As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Anyone fancy him ?
He is a free agent and free to sign.
I think he would be well worth a punt as back up and would bring a lot to the training ground as well.

Vinny, add one more "free" to your post and forward it to the Arsenal transfer dept.

Done AOAC.
They may not take me seriously as my last missive asking them to sign Hope was ignored
I agree LeGinge , far better backup than Cham and worth a put for one year I would have thought.

Get some proper talent in Arsene and spend some fucking cash to do so
Well I would love us to go for Falcao but we both know that can't happen now until January
I think he would be a good stop gap in the meantime and would give us an option up front that we don't have now as we are pretty light up front. For us to compete this season we Need Giroud to perform as I would prefer Pod to play as he has been and gives us a workrate and discipline in defence. Chamakh and Feo ???
Del Piero would give us a different option and he has stated he wants to experience other European football.
Sorry mate i dont agree we should live or die by Wenger's decisions (or lack of them) during the transfer window if we have to rely on players who had their best days 5-10 years ago we're more fucked than i thought we were
Alessandro Del Piero has reportedly rejected an offer from Southampton to move to Sydney FC where he will become the highest-paid player in A-League history. After narrowing down his shortlist to the two clubs, the Italian is expected to confirm his decision at a press conference in Turin on Wednesday.
The former Juventus forward's brother and agent, Stefano Del Piero, is understood to have met with the Sydney FC chief executive on Monday. Stefano told the Gazzetta dello Sport that Sydney's proposed deal of around £1.3m per season was "a valid option and a concrete proposal." Meanwhile, Southampton's offer was believed to be a two-year contract worth £1m plus bonuses per season.
Southampton were keen to land Del Piero, having opened the season with three defeats to sit bottom of the Premier League. In Australia, however, the 37-year-old will become a football ambassador and the A-League's biggest signing.
Australian media reported details of Sydney's offer last week, which will make Del Piero the highest-paid athlete in the country's four football codes, which also include rugby league, rugby union and Australian Rules football.
The A-League, which has had several teams fold in the last two years due to financial problems and falling attendances, needs Del Piero as a high-profile draw card. Its previous marquee signings have been Dwight Yorke, who also played for Sydney in 2005-06, and the former Liverpool forward Robbie Fowler, who was with the now-defunct North Queensland team and Perth Glory from 2009-11.
Juventus announced early last season that they would not renew Del Piero's contract and he was also linked with moves to the Middle East, China, Argentina, the United States and Switzerland.
He scored a club record 286 goals in all competitions over 19 seasons with Juventus, although he managed just five and only two in Serie A last season in limited playing time as the Turin club won its first Serie A title since before the 2006 match-fixing scandal.
