As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I just sent an email to ask my position on the silver member waiting list and they replied that mine is about 42,000 (I'm a red member since April 2008 when I moved to London).
Just wonder how many current ST holders / silver members? I haven't join the ST waiting list as I know I can't afford it but I think it's quicker to be ST holder than to be a silver member, isn't it? I expect the silver member give up rate is about 2,000 a year so only 20 years to go! I guess the scheme will change by then.
I think the season ticket list has moved faster over the past few seasons as I joined as a red member and on the waiting list at the same time and was offered a season ticket this year.

It certainly has, I have been offered 2 season tickets for the last two years. Two reasons why I turned them down, firstly my work situation has been unstable and secondly the seats where naff ones at the back of the upper tier. Price a snip at over £2.5k for a a pair.
Its easy to get tickets these days, I have a silver membership thanks to my Bond which I purchased in the early 90s so don't miss many games. Given silver membership doesn't cost much I wouldn't expect the waiting list to budge much.

Nut Flush - The bond issue. Simple as that. Of course, your right to do so, etc...Just my opinion and no amount of arguing (just pre-empting things here ) is going to change that.
I guess we all have things which stick in our throat, don't we? And for me, that's one.

The bonds are worthless these days, but when they where issued if you wanted a season ticket in the north bank that was the only way to get one. I stood in the north bank in the 80s and I remember all the protests in the last few seasons but in reality it was probably the most cost effective way for the club to rebuild the stand.
It was one of many initiatives the club has undertaken to take the game away from the masses, but thats football across the board these days, a very expensive sport to follow.

Fair enough, I agree with your sentiments. But not re the bond and the Northbank. It's done, that's that.
If you put your name on the st waiting list today you'll probably get offered one by the afternoon
I was on there for 6 years. The first year I think I moved up around 400 places, this year I was 17k and got offered one late in the process. Deferred to next season.
I've never checked my silver waiting list position but I would imagine its still a hefty wait.

I predicted some months ago that this will change and the club will soon start charging £100+ to renew silver memberships.
Don't know in terms of numbers, but I a guessing that someone taking out a new Red membership today would have to wait about ten years before becoming a Silver.
I suspect the Season Ticket waiting list is much shorter now.
