Interesting Blog - Referee Appointments

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The stats for Howard Webb are intriguing, especially after he saw the RvP elbow incident last weekend, yet no further action being taken. :rubchin: :rubchin:

Interesting stuff indeed...he's labelled it corruption which is a bit strong for me. No surprise Red nose has used his
Influence to manipulate this kind of process. Ol Fergie been around the block, knows every trick in book!

On this theme, if RVP was still an arsenal player would he have been charged by the FA :rubchin:

Silly of Pardew to think he gets to decide when the FA act, only the Dark Lord may do that.

Some of the stuff in there is exaggerated but the point about referee appointments is completely valid. How is it defensible for the FA to stop allocating United a certain ref because Ferguson disagrees with a decision he's made? I don't think it is really much of an exaggeration to call it "corruption" that Ferguson has an approved list of referees from which the FA must select an official for United games, and that he can just come out and lambast a ref and will get away scot-free or a token fine whilst getting his way.

But then again this is hardly new, he's been bullying the FA for decades now.

Yeah I agree he has been bullying the FA and journalists from day one and I always wondered what stories would eventually come out when he retires from journo's afraid to speak now to protect their access.

The refereeing appointments raise a serious question. Am not sure there is 'corruption' per se, but if we were to remove the name Manure from those articles and replaced it with Juventus, Madrid, Marseille I wonder what people's reactions would be.
Nothing would surprise me when we have so much money involved to be honest.

Vinny 1967.

Not sure about day one, but if ol' red nose can refuse to chat with the BBC for as long as he did, well then :rubchin: :rubchin: :rubchin:

If it was Sky, would he get away with the same?????

The *word censored* has been brainwashed by rednose *word censored* - so that anything that even hints of being dodgy - if it's done by a *word censored* wearing a mancsum shirt he just doesn't see it! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :cussing:

Exactly, money talks and utd are the biggest corperate money making machine in the game.
Perhaps we are saving our millions and millions to buy a penalty this season ?

The words "interesting" and "blog" just don't work in the same sentence. Now, if you'd written "vanity" and "blog" it would've worked.

isn't picking refs pretty much what Calciopoli was all about?
was 'corruption' enough to get teams relegated there!
