Stewart Robson Talksport
Stewart Robson Talksport
Robson was extremely critical of Wenger tonight, called him a dictator, very little tactical knowledge, looks to pull the wall over the fans eyes by shifting the blame.
For me made a lot of sense.

Re: Stewart Robson Talksport
robson was an akb when he worked for arsenal tv, since he got fired he has got very bitter.but i guess he knows enough about the workings of the club to have a scoop or two.
Re: Stewart Robson Talksport
I loved him as a player for us and gutted when he left to go to West Ham.
But playing for us almost 30 years ago followed by an undistinguished coaching career and a spell on Arsenal radio hardly qualify him as an insightful expert on either Wenger or Arsenal in 2012.... Still, if it earned him a slot on Talksport tonight then who can blame him...!

Re: Stewart Robson Talksport
Reckon Robson would know more than most of us who have not played for or worked for the club yet spend ages writing about the club and Wenger on here as if we are an authority!
It made it interesting when he worked for the club TV show as he would speak out where others were too nice, but
he is though a West Ham man, and it does sometimes feel as if his criticism goes overboard.

Re: Stewart Robson Talksport
he also mentioned a rift between him and bould already, you could tell that the first few games of the season there was a slightly different style to our play which a lot of people were putting down to boulds influence, its so obvious to anyone that the style in the last couple of games has gone back to wenger/rice and basically wenger wanting to show only his way to play is good enough.
its been clear for a while now that wenger has lost the dressing room, NOBODY wants him NOBODY respects him and when you lose the dressing room the inevitable next step is you will be SACKED!!......and good riddance

Re: Stewart Robson Talksport
As he's another voice in the quest to fucking hound Wenger (and the 3 other cretins) out of our club then his contribution is to be welcomed.

Yes, but no-one outside the onlinegooner (and probably 99% on the inside!) actually listens to what we have to say....QuartzGooner wrote:Reckon Robson would know more than most of us who have not played for or worked for the club yet spend ages writing about the club and Wenger on here as if we are an authority!![]()

To get onto Talksport you have to be a little controversial, so what better way of doing it than by biting the hand that used to feed....
BTW did you know that he played more than twice as many games for us as he did for West Ham.... (according to wiki!)
Re: Stewart Robson Talksport
Yea, I dont particularly care if he has an axe to grind or not. If he's saying it as it is and hes telling some home truths (unlike Lee Dixon, Martin Keown and other "pundits" who wont openly criticise Wenger) then its fine by me.
He certaintly knows a lot more than me and I'm always waffling about the gunners.

Re: Stewart Robson Talksport
Robson actually said there are approximately 8 explayers that harbour ambitions to work at Arsenal, such as an assistant role and would never criticise Wenger.
You don't have to agree with Robson on every single point, but I would say more often than not he echoes the thoughts of many posters on here.
I got the impression that his main critisism was that Wenger lacks a tactical knowledge and input to influence a game and also his coaching skills.

I'd lay money that Lee Dixon and Martin Keown - neither of whom to my knowledge have worked for the club since retiring from playing - know a damn site more about the club than Stewart Robson.armchair supporter wrote:Yea, I dont particularly care if he has an axe to grind or not. And I don't see the point of saying "fine by me" just because he is saying something you agree with. I'd prefer to listen to people from whom there is a reasonable chance of getting an intelligent professional unbiased opinion.... If Wenger was that bad a Manager, tactical novice etc, then I think there would be plenty of players of the last 15 years coming out to say so. They can't all be looking for a job back at the Grove....
How come we have to rely on a former employee who has effectively been sacked/squeezed out by the club twice....?

Re: Stewart Robson Talksport
Robson was a
while working for Setanta . He didn't criticize Arsenal , he insulted them. He insulted the Club and it's supporters. He did so because Setanta were paying him and all their pundits have/had an anti Arsenal agenda. Lou Macari ; " ah listen this Fabregas is not a great player" was one of the gems. Oddly Robson was also working for Arsenal TV at the time and his views on that were so different to his on Setanta.
I have no problem with people being honest and expressing valid opinions, but not when they are doing so to push their own agenda or because of sour grapes.

Not sure about Dixon working for the club.MK Gould wrote: I'd lay money that Lee Dixon and Martin Keown - neither of whom to my knowledge have worked for the club since retiring from playing - know a damn site more about the club than Stewart Robson.
Keown did a coaching badge at the club in 2005 - 2006, and some such as myself believed he was helping out with defensive coaching that season, though others have disputed this.
I know he has though been officially employed by the club in a corporate hospitality role at various events, and as an ambassador on this summer's trip to the Far East.
Re: Stewart Robson Talksport
Think i'll take what Parlour and Wright and other ex players say about Wenger rather than bitter Robson
