Southampton away trains and booze

Southampton away trains and booze

Post by mattyj3nks »

Hi all,

I am going to Southampton away on new years day which is a late kick off (5:30pm)

The last direct train home for me from Southampton Central is at 8:15pm......

Do you think i would be able to catch that train?

Ive never been there before so not sure if the away fans are kept behind after the game or if its pretty busy getting away from the ground after.

Any help would be very much appreciated before i book my train tickets this weekend.

Thanks
Matt

Yeah, shouldn't be a problem. The game will finish about 7.25/7.30ish and it's about a 20 minute walk back to the station, maybe 30 mins if you allow for crowds but the away section is located in the North End of the stadium, (closer to town) so it shouldn't be too bad. You'd make that train with about 10/15 mins to spare I reckon.

I'm slightly older than Herd and remember the days he talks about very well. However I had a slightly differnet technique,

I'd run like fuck.
