This punditry game has got out of hand now. There are far too many of them and 99% add nothing. Why did MOTD need 3 last night to cover one game?

We all know most pundits will not speak their mind on camera because they're either mates with those inside the game or are looking for work in the future. So whats the point? Current players are especially paniful to listen to. Whatever they say is inhibited and dull.

Most fans now are pretty well informed and dont need this patronising 'expertise' anyway. Then you have the ITV anchorman saying ''stay tuned after the break for the thoughts of Clive Allen'' ... do they not realise how that actually sounds to people ?

Co-commentators on TV have to be the biggest waste of time ever if all they do is tell you what you can see yourself. e.g. ''yes it just clips the post there, that was close''.

The likes of Beglin and Quinn just dont know when to shut up and let the pictures speak for themselves. Lawrenson sounds terminally bored, especially with his irritating 'yeah right' comments throughout and my heart sinks whenever Mark Bright is in a commentary team as I've yet to hear him say anything remotely interesting or coherent.

At least David Pleat seems to have been phased out though. That whiny nasal voice from one of the games most odious creatures was bad enough. But to pay someone who cant even be bothered to learn how to pronounce the names of famous players was inexcusible. Thats why letting ITV do football is always a mistake.

Guys like Clarke Carlisle are then often brought out and meant to be the excpetion to the rule that footballers are not very bright. Supposedly measured and intelligent (he's even been on Question TIme lol) he still says the same predictable crap as the rest.

Gary Neville is actually decent though and knows his stuff to be fair but he is one of the few. I know you dont have to listen to any of them but its easier said than done with this overkill.
