Why would you say that???

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Why would you say that???

Post by skizz_b »

Let's be honest, Arsenal's decline has driven most of our fans mad regardless of whether they're WOB, AKB or somewhere in the middle. It's now got to the point where some of our supporters are nigh on delusional, but what's the most stupid comment you've heard from an Arsenal "fan" this year?

This can be in any form - twitter, word of mouth etc, but please keep the personal insults and "anyone who supports Wenger is a mong" comments out of here as we don't want to get shut down again do we :oops:

Personally a standout candidate came from Twitter, a 16 year old girl from the far east calling me a c u next tuesday and telling me to give her my tickets as I'm not a "real fan" and I'm not "Arsenal through and through", all because I said Andre Santos was useless

Another good candidate on Twitter deemed making a final, a quarter final and a semi final in 16 years of champions league football "an achievement", good grief

"Winning things do not matter, playing good football and entertaining matters"

The staple argument from fans of a team that win fuck all ie sp*rs of the 90's and the current Arsenal team

This.

Also, anything along the lines of;

"Nobody knows better than Arsene"
"Other clubs would kill to be run as well as us" :? Ermm, we're making a loss before we sell players.
"Have patience"
"We can't compete with Chelsea/City/Barca etc"

This is a modern phenomenon and a downside of the internet and social networking - these weirdos live thousands of miles away (eg Kuwait, China etc)from the club they claim to "support" - and are unlikely to ever step foot in N5 - yet deem themselves fit to cast judgement on those who actually attend Arsenal games in person.

Often their twitter profiles will say laughable things like "Arsenal, Barcelona and Inter fanatic. I also love Gareth Bale and Ronaldo. Arsenal Till I Die"... All very strange to me, no doubt they own several different club's shirts and watch the Premiership, La Liga and Seria A all on satellite TV instead of going to support their local team in their local league - IN REAL LIFE.
