Brilliant day!! I went mental when Big Tone scored and fell down the steps behind the goal as I was celebrating.
Just about made up for that fecking awful day in 1991 when they stuffed us 3-1. That was a low point but I did enjoy coating a couple of Spuds fans on the walk back to the tube by shouting "Enjoy your poxy cup cos we're gonna be League Champions in 4 weeks".
And we were

watched it in Butlins for some reason (Skegness I think)
punched the air to celebrate but a ceiling intervened, very sore, was worth it
slept the night before in my Arsenal kit, done so before most semifinals since -
a pretty sad superstition

God, for one awful minute I thought it was 20 years since we won something...
!
Couldn't get a ticket for that match but still have fond memories as I also had money on Adams to score the first goal. Don't know why, but I'd never been so sure of anything in my life!! One of only half a dozen bets I've ever had on the footie!!

When I saw the date this morning. That was the first thing that I thought about. I was there and remember being sure we would win right up until the six minutes of injury time then I got a bit nervous. The final whistle was just ecstasy. I remember the buzz from thecrowd when waiting for the tube home at Rayners Lane and strangers shaking hands and dancing. 20 years, eh.

Re: Happy 20th Anniversary.
The build up to the game was one of the worst I can remember from a nerves point of view. The thoughts of losing to them again was too much to contemplate. There were Internationals the previous week I think and I was working in a Dublin Pub at the time, the England game was on live and Ian Wright went down with an injury. The plastic Oireland supporters were cheering this and I was nearly crying. I had just borrowed money to go to the Coca Cola Cup Final which was two weeks after the semi.
In the build up week I was listening to 5 Live , Brian Flynn was on and he was asked about the two semi-finals. He said because of the dignified way Arsenal had accepted defeat in Wrexham the previous season he wanted them to win the Cup. Watched the semi in the Ha'penny Bridge Pub in Dublin with the Dublin Arsenal Supporters Club. Came home and watched it again but my wife had a go at me for laughing at the images of the Spuds kids crying on the screen at the end.
