Flop of the season?
The scum have done there top 10:
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sp ... eason.html
In order: Samba, Garcia, Allen, Marin, Adebayhore, D-Graham, Granero, A-Diarra, Sinclair, Maicon
That's a pretty shitty list to me. Samba shouldn't be in that list because of the circumstances.
I'd go for:
1. Borini 11m for a slowpoke, who has been on loan to like 10 clubs in his young career. Cripple.
2. Jack Rodwell 13m- Atleast Garcia actually fecking plays. This guy was a cripple at 'ton and is now
3. Gaston Ramirez- 13m
4. Joe Allen- The Liverpool Denilson 15m!
5. Adebayhore- 6m especially if they dont make it top 4. The guy is an idiot. Could of got sent off last time too.
6. Granero 6m
7.Graham 5m- I always thought he was somewhat slow so I was suprised to see him join Sunderland
8. Marin 7m - Has he played a game?
9. Podolski 11m- Its not that he's terrible its just he's incosnsitent and for 90k a week you expect more.
10. Sahin 4m loan- Kinda glad we ducked that one.
Mirallas of Everton just misses out.

Re: Flop of the season?
From the list the Sun had I'd say probably all except Graham, Granero and Diarra were always likely to fail to live up to their billing/transfer fee and that many were always going to struggle for game time.
For that reason I'd have to put Granero right near the top. The bloke played 96 games for Madrid in the previous 3 seasons and has been right at home in a piss-poor team that are more than deserving of early relegation. Says something that they've sorely missed Barton.

Re: Flop of the season?
adebayor is by far the biggest flop, highest paid player and does fuck all

Re: Flop of the season?
Wtf is podolski doing there ? No mention of Scott Sinclair and yet our German striker makes the list despite being played out of position
If any of our recruits made your list then surely it would have been Giroud ?
In reality qpr could have filled the list on their own but after signing approx 32 players over the course of the last 4 transfer windows it is hard to remember which player was signed when

Worse than Giroud Rebs ? Pod hasn't been as effective as I had hoped but the fact is that he is playing in a position that will never maximise his ability and when you were dropped and behind Klingon and Wally in the pecking order, it must shake your confidence
Re: Flop of the season?
giroud is crap and shouldn't be near our first team but a guy with 100 caps for Germany I was expecting more, been played as a striker now the last two games and he has been the worse player on the pitch.

Re: Flop of the season?
Podolski does have a lot of experience but we paid more (or certainly about the same) for Giroud: expectations shouldn't really have been much lower.REB wrote:giroud is crap and shouldn't be near our first team but a guy with 100 caps for Germany I was expecting more, been played as a striker now the last two games and he has been the worse player on the pitch.
Re: Flop of the season?
Poldi had a better season than I expected. My very first football related post in this forum was "Have to say I'm quite surprised how positive everybody is about Podolski. In Germany most people doubt he'll make it. He had two decent (not more) years or so and failed when he once joined a big club."
Besides I didn't expect a lot from Giroud so I wouldn't call one of them flop of the season. They've not been great and probably the club paid too much money for them but at the end of the day they didn't do worse than what could be expected of them.
Marin btw as I said when he signed for Chelsea was just as stupid as it gets. Marin to Chelsea? Well we certainly had a good laugh abut that
Sahin really surprised me as he is a quality player but as it was only a loan he really can't be the flop of the season. Sinclair.. well. He wasn't really a flop for City as I doubt they expected him to be much more than he was. Just like Marin you don't really understand why a young player wants to sit on the bench. Adebayor is certainly one of the major flops. I didn't expect him to score 25 goals or so but he barely got in a team that lacks a striker and scored 3 league goals. Embarassing. Garcia and Rodwell were two of the most stupid transfers I've seen for quite some time. A club that has about infinite money and a weak midfield buys two average midfielders for a sum that could buy you a world class player
I think Granero is actually a good shout @nb123.

There was certain poster on here while back if i remember correctly giving out about wenger not going for this player, but he doesnt post on here anymore due to him not seeing a ban comingkite wrote:Poldi had a better season than I expected. It's just flop of the season, not careerOneBardGooner wrote:I don't read the sum but is Klingon in there!?spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:The scum have done there top 10:

I couldn't think who Gaston Ramirez was so looked him up, then laughed when I saw where he was born....spendsum4uckingmoney wrote: 1. Borini 11m for a slowpoke, who has been on loan to like 10 clubs in his young career. Cripple.

He was born in Fray Bentos

which, without looking, is probably where Andre Santos holidays, being the fat pie munching tub of lard that he is

Re: Flop of the season?
Surely Maicon, Garcia & Rodwell should be 3 of the worst. I also agree with Poldi being listed, he's been fucking woeful yet gets a very easy ride. Giroud has been the better of the 2 yet gets all the stick.

Re: Flop of the season?
Don't agree with that. I know there are similar debates on other threads but Giroud has played nearly every game as a striker in the league, albeit in a doomed system. Podolski didn't start a league game throughout February, March and nearly all of April, which was hardly merited as he was hardly awful and nobody else has been fantastic enough to warrant a sure-fire starting berth. Podolski's goalscoring rate in the league is slightly better and he's made about half of Giroud's goals! Yes he's been fucking diabolical last two games but I don't think him playing in a fairly unfamiliar role being in and out of the team warrants the same opportunity as Giroud has had.tel wrote:Surely Maicon, Garcia & Rodwell should be 3 of the worst.
