A bloody good read. SMUDGER

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

ALAN SMITH: Nothing will beat winning the league at Anfield in '89... we knew it was special because George Graham was singing at the back of the coach with us

Thanks for posting that TL as you say a bloody good read and I am always happy to remember with fondness the 26th May 1989 ! :barscarf: :barscarf:

1 - As a pundit he gets a fair amount of stick for saying what he believes and comes across as anti- arsenal, but I don't believe that he is at all.

2 - In the clip he gets to invite 5 people to a dinner party and 1 is David Rocastle, so bless him for that.

3- In the interview he states that Bould is a good mate and reiterates that Bouldy doesn't get much input time on the training ground. Wenker is a dictator, whio cannot accepot anybody else's input.

I had a BBQ at my house on the Saturday and a few of the lads came round. Then on the Sunday we had an open-top bus parade, and that was when Tony Adams turned up on the steps of Highbury at 7am because he'd got his timings wrong after just coming back from a night out.

A good read, although all he seems to do now is put us down.

Or give his true opinion - as opposed to kissing up to the club ??

"We would then come back into the dressing room grab our gear and head go down the road to the Bank of Friendship pub outside the ground. We'd have a couple of pints of Guinness and then head into town"

Bet you Smith would nurse two pints over the course of the evening and still be swaying.

Interesting interview but if he wasn't a footballer he's probably the type of bloke that you could work with every day for 30 years and not recognise when you walk past him on the street. Dull as ditch-water.

I know you'll be a happy man......but if you're happy at that, how happy are you going to be when the Coach of the Decade signs on until 2017? I think its only right you should be there on the big day dancing with the Away Boyz :D

Bank of Friendship has always been a good local boozer ,all the others Woodbine,Tavern,Gunners, barn only ever got used on matchday's although that's changed in the last 8/10 years with more young people coming to the area . Still is a good boozer !
