F.A. Cup Final

Post by Rugby Gooner »

I know that it isn't what it used to be,that they would play it in the Orion Nebula with a 23.15 Kick Off time if Sky told them to,and that they have even "attached" the name of a pissy AMERICAN beer to the name!.......but who do you want to win?
It's Wigan for me,because of,
1) The Underdog thing
2) The Dave Whelan thing,and
30 The fact that "Citeh" fans have become a real bunch of arrogant pricks since the money arrived!!!

To be honest I can't say it makes one bit of difference to me if Citeh buy another FA Cup. My interactions with Citeh fans are mercifully rare and as sad and small-time as it is whilst we are non-competitive for trophies then they're a favourable alternative to United or the Chavs.

Plus Dave Whelan is a huge huge huge huge huge huge huge huge huge wanker. One of the biggest in football.

One of the biggest wankers in football? - Dave Whelan? :o  :?

What about Pulis? David Bentley? Joey Barton? Marlon King? Sepp Blatter and the other corrupt prats at FIFA? Platini? Terry? Suarez? Cashley? Evra? Nasri? Pardew? Sheringham? Sherwood? Collymore? Clive Allen? Pepe? Mourinho? Ryan Shawcross?... the list is endless... Dave Whelan doesn't belong on that list, surely?

g88ner we are spoiled for choice with an abundance of wankers in football. But I absolutely cannot stand that mouthy prick Dave Whelan. Has to have his opinion broadcast on every fucking matter and has to make sure it is heard loud and clear as he plays the humble Northerner card. Fucking whinging prick.

tbh, It's sad that a great trophy like the FA cup has decended to the depths where it's at now. Growing up, I always looked forward to watching the final no matter who was playing. Now it's like a great big commercial...I know that's how modern football is, but it is well and truly sad. I don't even watch games after Arsenal gets knocked out anymore.

Maybe you know something I don't,but Dave Whelan has always come across to me as a fairly decent, honest, down to earth person.......Somebody who suffered a career ending leg break in an F.A.Cup Final, who will lead a Club out today that he has done a lot of good for.

Jaysus that is one illustrious list of w**kers Whelan is more of a d*ck than wanker.

Don't give a flying who wins.

Would prefer Wigan after extra time on penalties because it kills 2 bird with one stone, knackered Wigan and f**ked off Mancs...honestly bluemoon is worth a read to show it isn't just a Chavs/London thing to become w**kers afte a bit of bought history

Not cared less about the FA cup final since 05'.

They've all been foregone conclusions since. The favourite gets a minor scare but ultimately buries the underdog.

The last game I cared about was the last 2 semis the scum where involved in.

I loved them being d*ckied 5-1 by the chavs. What a collapse that was and when 'Arry and little old mortgaged to the hilt Pompey beat them 2-0with KP-Boateng getting the winning penalty. It was even sweeeter that they'd dumped him on Pompey.
I enjoyed that evening no end.

Next time I will give a toss about the FA cup will be when an Arsenal manager starts taking it seriously again.

Just seen on BBC text sight that Pntillimon's been dropped.

That's really out of order. He's made no mistakes and not cost them games like Hart has and yet he gets dropped.

Probably being punished for saying he's going to try and seek to be no.1 elsewhere as he's getting no joy even when Hart makes mistakes.

Yeah it's probably something more of an irrational hatred than him genuinely being that bad. He just fucking annoys me rather than being an absolute *word censored*.

Either way I'm not really too fussed. I probably haven't watched the FA Cup final properly since we beat United.

Agree totally Mega, The FA Cup Final was special back in the day (possibly due to the fact that there was hardly any live football on tv ?) and I would always watch it regardless of who was in the final (I can name all the finalists from 1970 - 1998 but since then only 1 or 2 lodge in the old memory bank, apart from our finals of course) and would usually make a day / evening of it with mates and beer etc, but no longer

I haven't watched the final for years now, have no particular affinity for either Wigan / City so am really not bothered who lifts it this year
