adebayor wants to stay for the rest of his career.....

adebayor wants to stay for the rest of his career.....

Post by tomkingsbury »

with the unfortunate news that berbatov is looking for a big club  , i also saw that adebaor has allegedly said he wants to stay for life.
So is it good news or bad? I know there is a very divided section on whether hes good or shit, but i personally think he may be becoming good. He is certainly not your trademark centre forward, but he certainly liven up our attack when he came on against everton, and he links up well with hleb/rosicky/fabregas and is very good at bringing other people inot the game. His touches and unpredictability (i sometimes think he doesnt know what he's goin to do at times) gives defenders a headache, and from what i hear defenders most certainly dont like payin against him - john terry said last season he was the by far the most difficult player he played against.
Only problem is his inconsistentcy, and composure infront of goal. For such a big lad his heading is awful, but i think i can say he is growing on me for once. So, anti-adebayors, have your views changed or is too early??

Give him a pay rise ?? Do me a favour. If he cant control that little round thing called a football better than he does then he should be handing back half his paycheque as it is  Before I start receiving stick over this and some pointing out the amount of goals he has scored I would like to say that I could score that many if I had cesc, rosicky & hleb providing for me

eduardo and niklas dont managed to score as many with hleb/rosicky/fabregas helping them - granted they havent played as many. I just think he has the ability to become a big player for us......

One minute I think he is great, so unpredictable and working hard etc. then the next I think he is just a clumsy donkey. It drives me nuts, his inconsistancy. But he does score goals (some vital). I have a bet on with Tony Saunders that Ade (or Yabba as I like to call him) will be our top scorer this year and with RVP's penchant for f*cking injuries I think that friendly pint is mine, Tone...

The thing I found strange about the Toffees game is that Arsene FINALLY switched back to 4-4-2 and started Eduardo, but then replaced Yabba with Nic. Why? Yabba is at his best with a striker playing off him and he holds up possession well when needed. Bendtner is not as good in that role (at the moment anyway). I do rate Nic but he has a way to go yet before he's near the finished article.

Did Wenger maybe feel Yabba needed a slap on the wrist for his own sake, given his Henry-like petulance and sulking during the last couple of games?

Just a note on Eduardo, his link up play and general passing and possession outside the box ain't great but he is a seriously clinical finisher in front of goal.

I'd like to see Eduardo given a run of at least 5 or 6 games minimum up alongside Yabba as part of a 4-4-2, I think they would both benefit big time. As would the team.

Tom when you say that you think ade will be a big player for us I assume you werent just talking about his height ? Seriously though I am like a lot of Gooners when I say I cannot make my mind up about him cos he is so inconsistant. I do think that as things stand he aint good enough to be a one of the top 2 strikers at any club challenging for trophies. It is, as you say, hard for eduardo & bedtner to score as many goals as ade when wenger doesnt play them. I think eduardo is going to split the Gooner camp even more than ade - hardly touches the ball, contributes fcuk all in link up play and little more in work rate but yet ends up with 2 goals from clinical finishes. Question is, given how we play our football, can we afford to "carry" a player who is nearly useless outside the box but deadly inside it ?

ade is second highest scorer in prem !

and eduardo is a very good team player and can often be found defending so to critise his work is just plain wrong.

personally i think wenger will use him wide left and he will become the new pires,a prolific wide man is exactly what we need and eduardo has done it before.

Always liked Ade, was always supporting of him for the 1st couple of seasons, he just needed confidence from the majority. I think he has this now and as long as he keeps working hard, improving and showing the hunger we've seen I'd like to see him at the club for a long time yet.

He hates tottenham and he hates tottenham, he is a tottenham hater!!

No!no!no! :x

You cannot play Eduardo as a wide player 'cause he just does not have the pace  He is the mythical "fox in the box" we have craved for so long it would be utter stupidity to play him wide.

Up top with RVP would see Dudu win the league for us  Wenger has called him his secret weapon for 08, and indeed he will be

Have to agree, he's not quick enough to play wide. Also, as I posted earlier, his play outside the box ain't great. He's a goalscorer, simple as.

so lets get this right ,his previous manager, his international manager and wenger are all utterly stupid??

they have all played him on the left .

maybe you should be the manager??

btw dudu has plenty of pace and knows very well how to beat a man with either a drop of the shoulder,a trick,or with his pace.

we havnt had a predatory midfielder since pires and he is very much the natural replacement.

Nahh you can not play Eduardo on the wing, Hes finding it hard enough playing in his favoured position up front, Although he is improving ;)

Andd Ade is becoming a great player for us, Hes shown us what he can do and with a little bit more time he'll keep improving and then show us what hes made of. He deserves his chance!

At the moment Dudu is the fox-in-the-box which we have been cryin out for since Wrighty hung up his boots and there's no doubting he is a lethal finisher but hopefully AW can expand his game and as is has been the case with all our previous imports it requires patience on our part!

First Adebayor is a great asset for the club he work rate is amazing, and as for cant control the ball??? did you not see him against Derby the way he pulled the ball for one of he's goals! how many goals has he scored against sperms ? I think he would benefit playing alongside Eddy
