Match DVDS

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Match DVDS

Post by Swifty »

Fellow Gooners - I flew myself and my family from Oz to watch the Arsenal v Newcastle game in December and have since being trying unsuccesfully to obtain a copy of the game on DVD. Does anyone know how one might procure said item?
PS All those wanting Wenger's head on a plate - please think carefully about the many lowly seasons prior to his tenure then tell me which manager would be able to provide the same level of consistent competitiveness with the same resources - be careful what you wish for.......

Not a problem - my expanded view is in the Wenger for and against topic. I'm new to these boards but have been around football for an adequate number of decades to back myself 8)

Ask yourself whether George Graham would have viewed finishing 15-20 points off the leader and not challenging for any cups every season as "competitive".

Don't let the bloated nature of the CL muddy the waters - we're not competitive. In fact, it's not just that we haven't won trophies, it's that we haven't got near winning them. Since we moved grounds in 7 seasons we've made one CL semi-final (where we were raped for 180 minutes) and made one FA Cup quarter final and one semi-final in that time. It's a fucking piss-poor record and the fact that in that time we've been knocked out of cups 3 times by United, twice by Chelsea and even by Liverpool underlines the fact that we are simply not competitive.

Just for that Swifty .. I'm now not gonna send you my DVD of the full game free of charge.

As for the many lowly seasons prior to Wenger's arrival, are you sure mate?

Only 5 years before Wenger came, Arsenal were league champions. Just 3 years before, Arsenal won both domestic cups in the same season. And just 2 years before, we won only our 2nd European trophy and to this day (despite 16 successive attempts at the CL  ) it remains as our only triumph outside of England (or Cardiff :-P )

I'm really sick of this line. Not just with regards to Wenger but everywhere. Its even been used in the last 2 James Bond films :banghead:

Its a clever disguise granted.....but if he posts on the "Good luck Cap'n" thread that we should re-sign Almunia in favour of that arrogant moron Chesney and triple Theo's wages to 300k per week, then he could be posting from fucking Siberia; the game's up :D

Are you a superhero or a pilot?

Are you Dorothy?

As for Wenger, you're right. I can't think of a single person who could .... blah, blah, blah. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
