Haven't they done this already with Squillaci, Almunia, Denilson, Santos, Chamakh and Silvestre? They must have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds through this.

Who the feck would play 20k to play what is essentially park football?

Re: If Arsenal offered this for say £50k...
The Macclesfield thing isn't worth it like, 20k and all you get is 10 minutes in what will probably end up being a crappy cup game. Wouldn't mind saying I'd played in a conference game if I happened to be loaded like but being honest would you even touch the ball in ten minutes? I doubt I would, I'd be too shit to win the ball off the opposition and I highly doubt the Macclesfield players would want to pass to the rich wanker who bought his place on the team and is shit! If you had the money 20k for 90 minutes (or even an hour) would be half decent I suppose but it's still non league football, be better doing it at a league 2 team, that'd be mint (again though, not just for 10 minutes). If I had 20k burning a hole in me pocket I'd pay it for 5 minutes in an emirates cup game for arsenal like

If I had that sort of money to throw away on a fantasy I'd offer it to Kelly Brook for an hour or two of horizontal excercise

I would dress up as a 19 year old African in a Le Havre top and watch my £50k one off investment turn into a £50k per week income stream for 5 years

You could even decide to get perennially injured averaging a couple of appearances every season and STILL get paid handsomely, whilst you get touted as being "like a new signing" whenever the transfer window opens.SteveO 35 wrote:I would dress up as a 19 year old African in a Le Havre top and watch my £50k one off investment turn into a £50k per week income stream for 5 years

Won't be long before clubs are offering it for friendly matches though (especially clubs that could attract significant bids for a place on the team).
