Arsenal v Norwich

Post by Chippy »

They were unlucky to lose to the Chavs yesterday. We should still win fairly comfortably though.

I hate international breaks. :(

The only good thing about this international break is we should have Walcott, Santi and Podolski back in the squad after it's over which will at least mean there are options from the bench in games. I don't want to see Barry Bender coming on when we need a goal ever again.

Im not sure if the other teams have improved or the top ones have worsened but this seems about the most open season for years-
Theres not many teams now that can be relied on to get 3 points off for anyone.

Performance in the CL would suggest a drop in top team standards in England over the last 2-3 years, but maybe the lower teams have sussed how to play the top teams as well. Many seemed to have upped the tempo in midfield, not allowing natural flow to happen :? .

Still feel its a 2-0 score but I wouldnt be too surprised if its closer than that.

The 3-1 result in the corresponding fixture last season certainly flattered us considering it was 1 all with about 5 minutes to go. Hopefullya more comfortable 3 points this time round, onwards and upwards.

2-0 or 3-1 and hopefully some pace and guile from somewhere? Lacking against the Baggies.

don't want to predict, can't be sure how fragile our confidence is atm and although a 1-1 draw at the hawthorns in their form is pretty good I worry about Giroud's chances to goal ratio and the fact he struggles to carve out his own opportunities. I think the Cazorla return will be most timely as well

Rosucky pulled out of the Czech squad today. Good lad.

I think we'll struggle again. I think wenger will pick the same width less formation.

1-1 for me. Giroud.

Norwich aren't really up to much so should be brushed aside unless we put in another trademark performance like last year.

On the other hand our last 3 performances against them we drew 3-3 at home despite the van Judas one man show, lost 1-0 there barely registering anything remotely resembling an effort on goal and were then very very fortunate with the late turnaround at our place.

Let's just hope we get through internationals unscathed.

We haven't had a great record against them recently so I hope we're more Napoli than WBA. On paper, we should win but I hope we're not complacent.

The most amusing part of the last few posts was hearing Mr Dench's name mentioned in the same breath as the rest of them

Brentford, Southend and then Barnet on loan - in that order

Still it was nice that he was idolized after 3 PL games
