Time travel

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Time travel

Post by flash gunner »

Anyone been watching the programme Journeyman? If you havent very basically its about a bloke that time travels. It might have been posted before and apologies if it has but.......

If you could time travel back what Arsenal game or moment would you choose? It doesnt have to be a game you went to maybe something youve heard about from your dad/grandad

Personally id go back to WHL '71 or Anfield '89 with WHL '71 getting my vote which was actually a month before i was born

Gotta be Anfield 89
I'd also love to see Kanu's hat trick against Chelsea

I was just about to say that rebel.

I'd go to the dressing room before the match and show them the whole lead up to the Lehmann incident, that way he wouldn't be put in that position. (Afterall, Lehamann isn't the type to listen even if you did tell him not to grab people's ankles in CL finals.)

I wouldn't mind if you did mean the wife. At least her earning potential would increase so I could buy it back again

MIND YOU, 1994 WAS THE TAIL-END OF THE GRAHAM YEARS AND YOU PROBABLY GOT MORE VALUE AND PLEASURE FROM THE MISSES THAN YOU WOULD HAVE FROM WATCHING GRAHAM'S/HOUSTON'S ARSENAL!!

WHL 71, Wembley 71 and Anfield 89 would be my votes. Anfield 89 is my biggest regret as a miss as I could have gone and did'nt due to being a pessimistic bastard and thinking we had no chance :?

I went to the 89 game. I got two tickets in the Kop from a friend (£15 each, scandalous prices). We went to the front and told a copper that we were Arsenal and he marched us down the other end to the away section. That wouldn't happen today. You'd just get ejected, Happy Days

Can't remember much for a couple of days afterwards though

I certainly made up for actually missing the game over the following weekend, what a great couple of days and the sun shone continuously, appy days indeed :D

89 for me, would have loved to have been there. Remember watching it in my PJ's as an 11 year old and going crazy when Thomas scored. did about 50 laps of the house then watched out my bedroom window as loads of drunk happy gooners went past throughout the night.

Either that or would have liked to have been there in the 30's to see the likes of Bastin, James, Drake etc
