The African Cup Of Nations

Post by samstrange »

Young Alex Song has just been called up to the Cameroon squad for the African Cup of Nations. Alex was possibly the replacement for kolo whilst he was away but it look as if were gunna have to rely on the duties of Philipe!

Will Senderos be first picked or will Djourou??

Of course it will affect us - we lose our starting centre back who is also one of our most consistent and hard working players.

Remember though, the ANC will affect more than just us, it'll be felt throughout the whole of the premier league.

I think we will miss Kolo most. Eboue can easily be covered with Rosicky, Walcott, Denilson,Diaby etc. I don't think that Song will be an issue as he hasn't really figured in the first 11 this year. The critical factor is Willy remaining fit whilst Kolo is away.

Will it affect us? Of course! How can you lose a player of Kolo's quality and not be affected. Hopefully the replacements Senderos  and Djourou will have a good spell and we can escape with minimal damage to our title chances.

Except Manure :( :( :(

i think he should use 1 of them along with kolo, in the cup v burnley, and rest willie. why?? willie is on 4 yellows, and 1 more means a suspension. that would more than likely mean, djourou and phil will partener each other in a prem league game.. god help us.

Maybe true! But who has stopped countless attacks and made several successful last ditch tackles :?:

If you saw Djourou at Birmingham you will have serious doubts the throw in he took for Birmingham what led to a bolton goal was a complete joke

The loss of Kolo for a few games will be massive whether he has conceded pens or not he is one of our main players

Of course it will affect us.We are a William Gallas injury away from disaster.Everytime Swiss Cygan pulls on a Arsenal shirt my blood pressure goes though the roof and Djouru didn"t pull up any trees at Brum.If it was up to me i would play Sanga at centre half and play Hoyte at right back.

I have noticed one thing Arsenal lack in defence and that is Height Kolo against Everton was at fault for there goal in my opinion giving Yakabu space and was lucky not to be at fault for another header Yakabu had a open header with, I know Kolo Toure is a class defender no doubt what i merely stating is if we assessed every player as much as we do Big Phil
we can make them all scapegoats,

No one mentions Big Phil was part of the team who kept 10 clean sheets in the champions league and not against 2 bob teams, no one ever mentions big phils amazing goal line clearance aginst Newcastle in the Carling cup,

I know it seems I'm big phils number 1 fan, but honestly not
but it seems if we mess up we will be blaming big phil for this
and all this before he has even played a game lets get behind every player in a red and white shirt for a change!

blame coukld be heaped on the God that is Arsene Wenger for buying African players who go disapearing every 2 years to play in the ACN

i totally disagree the reason the ball got in the back of our net is quite simple......cesc raced of his post to close down the short corner when he didn't need to, when dudu was already going. in turn, clichy left his post and went to the front one which was vacated by cesc. so when the ball came in the box no one was on the back post and bendtner tried to cover it at the very last second.

Another thing to add in Senderos' favour is he plays with heart. He'll make mistakes of course, but he'll also be more than willing to make up for them.

Him walking away from scoring for Switzerland with a bleeding head made me think that he could be great for us after the world cup...but so foar not much. Maybe this can be his chance.
