"Five and the Prophecy of Prana" at the Barbican, really good show, only has tonight and Saturday left then the run ends.

It is Hip Hop/Kung Fu/Manga dance theatre ...incredible dancing and the music is good too.

I went to see "Goodnight Mr Tom" earlier in the year for the wife's birthday.
Quite a good adaptation actually.
I discovered that it was the first stage dramatisation to use hand controlled animals. I'm told that it inspired the type of puppetry used in the stage production of "War Horse".

Not a bad show to see but it has finished now.

I don't really get to the theatre much these days. The cost is often prohibitive but the biggest problem is that Mrs Spuddy works nights so the opportunities to go are few. When we do get time there is normally something more pressing that needs to be done.

I watched the "50 years of the N.T."at the weekend,some great stuff.I used to go to the threatre quite a lot,(especially when I lived in London),and we have some great theatres locally,The R.S.C. at Stratford upon Avon obviously,and the Belgrade in Coventry.

You do NOT have to book tickets months in advance. Or form an orderly queue at the theatre of your choice, hoping for unsold tickets to be offered.

Just go to one of the Box Offices in Leicester Square. You can get tickets for any show you want. On the day. At any time before the show starts. At face value.

This is because the theatres sell big blocks of tickets to various agencies at a discount. Those agencies return any unsold tickets to the box office.

But my impression was that it was fairly pot luck in terms of what plays/musicals they'd have - for example if you turned up hoping to bag Les Mis on a Saturday you'd have no chance? Never actually done it and something I'd contemplate doing so I'd be interested to hear people's experiences of this on a Saturday.

It's for all shows. The last time I went I could get tickets for any of the big shows. And it was late afternoon on a saturday.

I have also seen Les Mis, was excellent.

Seen a few shows over the years, Barry Humphries superb in Oliver.
And saw Sarah Jones's very good one woman show "Bridge and Tunnel" which was "Off Broadway" in NYC amongst others.

And I bet I am not the only one on here who saw Fever Pitch?
