weekend matches

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

weekend matches

Post by Henry Norris 1913 »

considering the build up the merseyside derby gets and the praise both sets of fans get for creating the atmosphere they do, there is a real lack of noise at goodison today, even after everton equalised it was pretty poor. considering the noises we make at home to the scum it really is a contrast. very poor atmopshere but a great game.

Everton have done pretty well so far this season and I like Martinez a lot considering he's an adopted jack bastard but it's same old story for them. Cower away when they face the big boys and when their main striker's form dips the team can't get round it.

Decent result but if we lose, Southampton could be top of the league. That's weird!

Didn't watch the game but doesn't surprise me if he had a stinker. He's not just past his best, he's well past his sell by date. It was laughable the way he was huffing and puffing chasing shadows against us and the guy should not even be on the plane to Brazil.

Nope. They'll play their hearts out against us. Fuckers. They always do against us and the spuds. They'll rollover for united and city too.

I know it was only MOTD highlights, so no idea if he played well or not, but Gerrard seemed to be behind Liverpool's most dangerous moments. Great delivery.

I watched a lot of the real Madrid game tonight and I have to say that the monkey's attitude surprises me - I know that it is a different country and lifestyle but for me bale seems to be hiding most of the time. Gone are those lightening dashes and he certainly doesn't show for passes as much as he should do if he is hoping to make an impact and show how good he is - if he is just trying to avoid making mistakes rather than be pro-active then his time in Madrid will be brief. I know a lot of Gooners want him to fail but personally I am hoping that he is a big success - if he flops then the scum fans will be revelling in the fact that they got huge money for him when he wasn't worth it, but if he succeeds then the rest of us can argue that they made a huge mistake and under-valued him

I think he'll be fine. Ozil is struggling more than Bale at Madrid in my opinion, but players taking time to adapt to a new country/league is hardly a new phenomenon.

Agree with you though, mate; I hope he succeeds at Madrid too. Although, not sure it could ever be argued he was undervalued by Sp*rs
