Previous Arsenal v Chelsea matches (Highbury / Emirates)
Should be many a good memory of matches against this mob.
Reyes' debut, on as a sub 1-0 down in the FA Cup when he pops up with a beauty to level, then not long after he got a winner that crept over the line.

Henry with a goal again in the FA Cup which has Hansen commenting "this isn't football this is art"

Also a quickly taken Henry free kick.

Lots of great old memories......sadly a lot of fucking awful ones lately
My first memory of them was Kerry Dixon equalising against us on the opening day of the season (either '83 or '84??) - went with my old man when those yo-yo no history wankers had just been promoted
Best memory at Highbury - probably the Reyes thunderbolt when they started getting ideas above their station
Worst memory - just about every single one at the Bowl.....with Drogba pissing on us every time

the FA Cup tie in 2003, they took the lead but we scored a pen? to equliaze and get the replay. that was a fun night, other than that a 5-1 win in the '91 title winning season when they were the equivalent of modern day fulham. good times

We used to beat them for fun.......then the tables turned and we were their whipping boys.SteveO 35 wrote:Lots of great old memories......sadly a lot of fucking awful ones lately

I can remember a cracker of a night match back in about 90 or 91 when we beat them 3 -1 at Highbury, electric atmosphere.

The Reyes match was a cracker, putting them back in their box was fucking fantastic, pity it didn't last long.
The Dec 2007 game where we did them 1-0 with Cech flapping for Gallas' goal was also great, we were really riding high and the Flamini-Fabregas partnership in particular was really a joy to watch. Best memory of that game was right at the death when Cole was trying to launch a counter-attack from their box and Fabregas scythed him down from behind with no attempt to win the ball. He really hated that little prick, made that clear.
Unfortunately for each of those there are at least 3 or 4 humiliating boys against men experiences.

It's only Ray Parlour...
Lee dixons winding up and kicking le saux off the park . Nutty looking at le saux and patting his arse in the same game.
Not at home - but the kanu goal from the bye line.
Nuttys two thunderbolts to win at the bridge twice.

One of my favourite memories of Arsenal v Chelsea was a 2-1 League Cup win against them at the pre-seated Highbury, in 1976...

Beating them 2-1 on Boxing Day 2001 when Sol Campbell scored his first goal for us and Wiltord got the winner after we were 1 down, beating them three years in a row in the FA cup, beating them in the unbeaten season when Cudicini dropped it at Henry's feet, coming back from 2-0 to draw 3-3 in 1996, Dixon hitting a rocket to equalise at the death the next season I think, winning 2-0 in February 1998 when Stephen Hughes scored both goals and of course thrashing them 3-1 a couples of years ago.

Beating them 3-1 a couple of years back under ancelotti was a rather good night. Drogba was in shit form and spent the night in Djourou's pocket. Whenever Chelsea come at us and give us space to play on the break we always look very capable of beating them. Unfortunately Mourinho knows this so I can't see us having any such luck on monday

I remember it, I think Hasselbaink had a chance to make it 3-3 too but decided to try and diving header a ball at knee height instead of volleying it.Bendtners Drinking Buddy wrote:Remember being hungover as sin one New years Day....absolutely p/ssed down all day 3-0 with about 3 to go, ended 3-2 - Petit got one for them i think.

Re: Previous Arsenal v Chelsea matches (Highbury / Emirates)
The 2003 one I remember being at and afterwards a couple of excitable little wankers were trying to get at us when we were singing "Champions" followed by "You'll never sing that song".......those were the days. We used to fuck them over nearly every time we played themVoiceOfReason wrote:Even better than that, we beat them in the FA Cup four years in a row!Perryashburtongroves wrote:beating them three years in a row in the FA cup
