Gervinho has criticised former club Arsenal and manager Arsene Wenger by claiming he did not learn much during his time at the Emirates.
Gervinho moved to Roma last summer after spending two seasons with the Gunners, scoring just 11 goals in 63 appearances under Wenger.
But Gervinho, who has enjoyed a new lease of life at Roma under boss Rudi Garcia, has hit out at Arsenal for his lack of playing time and his struggles.
"The fundamental difference between the Roma and Arsenal is the coach. Garcia here gives me confidence, I know that he believes in me. When I wake up in the morning, I really like going to work: I cannot wait to train and stay with my coach and my team-mates," Gervinho told Sports Ilustrated.
"In Italy the people are great. Rome is wonderful and the passion for football is strong, but a lot of these qualities were also in England. What I learned at Arsenal? Honestly, not so much, because you cannot learn a lot if you're on the bench."
Gervinho scored twice for Roma in a thrilling 3-2 victory over Napoli in the Coppa Italia, with the double seeing his total rise to eight goals for the season since he joined the club.
And a lack of game time was one of the main reasons why Gervinho decided to leave Arsenal.
"I left England because I was not playing. Almost always be among the reserves was the worst thing for me and for my confidence," he said.
Another victim of mismanagement by Wenger or just a victim of his own shitness? Personally I think he had enough chances but fucked up nearly every time. The glaring open goal miss at Bradford in extra time sticks in the mind especially.
Seems to be doing better in Italy but is Serie A really much better than Ligue 1 these days?
Actually I think you'll find the main difference between Arsenal and Roma is that they play in a cack league.
Wenger DID mismanage him - he played miles too much football. He should have been dropped long before he was. He was a player that should have prospered from our system but his decision-making, touch and composure were all shocking and when he got to the point where despite being fairly quick he could not beat a man for love nor money and would end up tirning back when one-on-one with a fullback more often than not.
Don't see what more we could have done for him, just didn't have the ability or mental attributes to make it with us.
I usually stick up for players and allow them time to adjust or come back from injury or poor form but for me FOREHEAD WAS ONE OF THE WORST PLAYERS TO EVER PULL ON THE RED AND WHITE SHIRT,SHIT EVERYTIME,CONSISTENTLY SHIT THOUGH
One of the worst 'footballers' Ive had the misfortune to see. Ever.
Not only for us but for any team.
The pure absolute shitness of this guy cannot be underestimated. How he played for us as often as he did is astounding but sadly par for the course in Wengers world.
Was going to quote NB123 but ten I read the posts after his and found that they too pretty much summed up my feelings An absolutely useless c*nt and that is being kind to the guy
Good so we're all in agreement that he is and always will be a complete crock of shit.
Just thought I'd throw this out there to see if anyone, ANYONE, has an ounce of sympathy for him Tbh he should be grateful to Wenger for giving him a chance at a half decent PL side, as no other *word censored* would be stupid/tight enough
Absolute shite player the miss at bradford I remember at ewood park one time he didnt square to van cuntface when he had what would've been a certain goal one of the worst players to wear the shirt ever.
Most players seen on YouTube look like Messi, but I remember searching out Forehead when the rumours of us signing him sufaced and was was shit on there too. Mazy dribbles followed by the ball landing in Row Z. I've no idea why we signed him.
Aye I remember when we were after him it showed footage on ssn of him at lille going on a mazy dribble into the box then dragging his shot wide useless fucker
If he didn't learn much I can only presume he joined us already well versed in the art of running down blind alleys, tripping over his own feet, being as manly as a Right Said Fred album, and costing us a fucking place in the 6th round of the cup we can win
