Champions League games 18/19

Post by LeftfootlegendGooner »

As much as I detest barca and I do, I do want them to smash city if for nothing else to dent their confidence.

Btw after 15 mins barca had something like 73% of the ball.

Poor from Silva for the 1st goal imo. Played the ball right into Navas' feet so he had to check his stride and face up to the defender, and then ran ahead of the ball instead of checking his own run to offer him a viable option. Navas had no option but to take on the full-back from a standing start, which was always risky there.

That said, Demechelis is comically bad. The fact city, with all their money, have still failed to find a worthy partner for Kompany after all this time is unreal. :? And how is clichy starting for them in a game like this? Even given kolarov (also suspect) was playing ahead of him. He was shite for years before we sold him. For all their money city have always been, and remain, eminently beatable if we just gave ourselves a fair shot.

Men v Boys.City can get away with it in a poor premiership hitting teams for 6 but they were given a football lesson tonight. The game was won in midfield with Xavi Iniesta and Cesc outstanding

And what a player Ibra is

Exactly. Like in 2011/12 when Citeh and United were dismantling teams by 4 or 5 goals with ease in the first few months of that season yet both failed comprehensively at the group stages of the CL.

Also saw Fabregas' comments - basically seemed like he was giving Mourinho the finger by saying some people need to shut up.

Yes I'd like to think he also had half a mind on us while making that comment obviously aimed at Moaninho

I too still love Cesc immensely. In a very manly way, obviously. Not that that makes it sound much better.

Agree. Disappointed in the way he let us down in the last half a season when his heart clearly wasn't in it but the experience of watching Arsenal 2006-2011 would have been fractionably as enjoyable if it wasn't for him. We had a few other flashes in the pan in that time like Flamini, Adebayor, van Judas but Fabregas was consistently quality and he was an absolute joy to watch.

Although I'm sure people would disagree given the last few months at the club, I always appreciated what the club clearly meant to him. I remember how much he hated Cole, really fucking hated him, and how he tried to break him in two in stoppage time at our place in 2007/08. Also hated Ferguson (cf Pizzagate!) and I'll never forget his reaction to scoring THAT goal against the Scum. Loved the combativeness and the intensity of the PL which isn't genuinely true for that many foreigners.

Love the fact that Cesc knows when it's time to tell Jose to STFU. :-P
