SUNDERLAND THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

With a bit of luck they'll be far too focused on the Milk Cup final next weekend.

I think they will be and we should put a good old 4-1 on them.

I'm going to regret this (awaits bumps after the match) but I'm quietly confident for once  We've got a lot of hard away games to come but we'll need to get points from some of them if we're to stay up and I'd say Arsenal (especially after the exertions of last night) are one of the better chances. On your day you'll hammer us but we're decent away from home and IF we can catch you on an off day we might sneak it.

I'm not going down this season like, baby due in 3 weeks and a Wembley trip to pay for on top of Old Trafford for the semi (and the fact I'm leaving my job to move to Sunderland due to said baby) means I'm watching the pennies a bit. Will just have to make do with a stream (me good mate wibble off here is coming round to watch it with me, hopefully there won't be anything too controversial just to keep the peace!).

Some are saying the run in is more important than Wembley but I don't agree with that like - relegation and a cup win anytime over survival and a cup final defeat, want to actually win something! Having said that Sunderland love kicking us in the bollocks, we'll probably get smacked at the Emirates, battered at Wembley and get relegated  . Oh well :barscarf:

I will take a win any which way it comes. A 1-0 deflection off Wes Brown's arse in the 98th minute of 5 minutes added on will do me just perfectly.

He's out mate - got a 2 game ban which should have seen him miss City away and Southampton at home in the cup but the City game being postponed means he missed Southampton and this one - when the weather was wild we were praying for the FA Cup game to go ahead just to make sure he didn't miss the final! Our best defender since Bould so it would have been a massive blow not having him for Wembley.

safcftm - best of luck for the final, mate. :barscarf: 8)

Hope you win an actual real-life trophy - I'm told that is even better than "winning" a virtual trophy, but hey, it's been that long since we did, what the fuck do I know! :(

I can foresee a rather tepid 2-0 win, in which Sanogo will continue on the path to greatness by notching his first goal for Arsenal.

They must be feeling fantastic after looking odds-on to go down and they'll definitely word hard, but if we can match their effort we should win by a couple and to be in the top two at the end of Feb wasn't something I thought I'd see this season.

Cheers mate, it's going to be nigh on impossible like but you never know! Hope the arsenal win the title as well (again its going to be tricky when you've got the likes of man city trying to buy the league again but you never know). All the best for Saturday

Am in block 23 for this match with my lads- hope the away support isnt like the Palace Ultras :cussing:

3-1 with a cheeky Sanogo hat trick. Expect Ozil and Giroud will be rested. When is Rambo going to return

I hope Sunderland lose that final, not because I dislike them but the fact that we will have to endure more 'Since Arsenal last won a trophy' digs if more relegation fodder win before we do. Yes, I'm a cynical fucker. :banghead:
