The difference in results this season
this is actually scary stuff.
I knew we hadn't had as great a season as has been painted but...
ok so we beat Liverpool at home which was an improvement on last season but that is offset by the fact that they thumped us at Anfield whilst we won there last season
we managed to win at Villa Park this season but then again they did beat us at the Emirates so they have still taken more points off us than last season
other positives - we drew with Chelsea at home, beat Fulham and Sunderland at home and er thats it.
the negatives - we lost to Man City and Stoke away, and drew with WBA away
All other PL fixtures this season that we have played have finished the same as 2012/13
currently we are ONE point worse off than last season
ok I know there is an argument to say that you can't compare season with season like this but considering the fixtures we have coming up I would say that there is a pretty big chance that we won't win too many more points than last season.
our "title challenge" was a myth, we were never really in it.

Re: The difference in results this season
Seems a bit surprising but then again you think we've bottled just about every big game that you'd expect us to and we're still knocking around 4th as usual.
Re: The difference in results this season
we have been unable to sustain a challenge in a one horse race!!!!!.had dick wads invested in a striker of quality in the summer we would now be sailing off into the sunset, without being OTT I think wed have had possibly 6-7 more points right now,we would have beaten utd both times for sure and maybe grinded out a couple more draws like at stoke, the villa at home was a freak result so lets just write those point off.having said that when you look at it like that that would still leave chavski breathing down our necks and they've been mediocre for 75% of the season to say the least, lets face it we are shite

The thread is still open. What arguments on this thread will be different to the Wenger thread or indeed any of the others?Theoperator wrote:Bwah the censor is coming but freedom of speech isntChippy wrote:Not sure we needed another thread to say this.....![]()

they can't close this thread, or free speech will die forever

Re: The difference in results this season
To be fair - if each thread was closed that contained repetition then there'd be little left.

By the way - if each thread was closed that contained repetition then there'd be little left.

Yes
No, but we did get knocked out of the pop cup by Bradford last year
Not sure that was any better!

Re: The difference in results this season
the stat that I like the most (well hate really) is that since 2008 we have not finished with more than 75 points and are unlikely to this season either.
that is a damning indictment of the club and a stat that above all else highlights how we are content to settle for 3rd/4th place and have no ambition to aim for anything higher.
