Team v Spurs on Wednesday Night

Post by Chunky The Gooner »

Judging by the team he put out today I have no idea what sort of team Arsene will now put out against Spurs on wednesday. I know Flamini was suspended but there was no Clichy, Rosicky , Fabregas or Hleb and Adebayor had a slight hamstring injury. Do we expect any of those players mentioned to take part on Wednesday night now or will Arsene stick with the same side as todays give or take Lehmann, Toure, Sagna and Eboue? Your thoughts please!

Not a chance. Vela isn't coming back, to start with - and no sub goalie? I think it will be more like this;

Fabianski

Hoyte
Djourou
Senderos
Traore

Walcott
Denilson
Diarra
Diaby

Bendtner
Eduardo

I agree with Tony's line-up. Spot on

I cant understand why we played the same side today though against Burnley as we are going to play on wednesday, Im afraid that our 2nd string who are playing on wed could become tired.

Anyone agree?

I like Tony's line up.

But I think Wenger will have one or two established players on the bench 'just in case'...maybe Rosicky or Hleb and Adebayor?

I think playing Fabianski would be suicide!

He looks nervous enough playing ordinary opposition but to put him in a semi final against our most hated opposition who are trying to beat us for the first time in 19 tries and are desperate for revenge is crazy!!

Spurs are shit at the back and great going forward, the last thing we need is to ship a couple of soft goals after he's flapped at some crosses!

To me Jens definately deserves another game after a solid performance against burnley. We never played our 3rd choice keeper in the comp last season so I think its hugely unfair on Lehmann to do that now. granetd he was an idiot mouthing off like he did when he was fisrt dropped but he is after all insane and has shut up now so he should be rewarded

I am hoping for:

Lehmann
Sagna
Toure
Senderos
Clichy (traore was awful yesterday!)

Theo
Diaby
Diarra
Hleb

Eduardo
Bendtner

Subs:

Hoyte
Fabianksi
Rosicky
Flamini
Adebayor

Well as our ACN boys have definately gone and Le boss has said Theo will play with Djourou and Swiss Phil at CB with Fabianski in goal I'd say Tony's team will be near spot on.

RVP is in the squad however so its a case of whether he starts or comes on. I think he might start next to Bendtner with Dudu on the bench to give him a bit of a rest, actually no changed my mind Dud and RVP to start, I think they'd be great feeding balls into the box for aech other, Nic should be used to impacting off the bench

Seems like Rosicky hasn't played for an age so he might be on the bench along with Hleb and i expcet Gilberto will feature so my guess is

Fabianski

Hoyte
Djourou
Swiss
Traore

Theo
Denilson
Diarra
Diaby

RVP
Dudu

Bench:

Mannone
Bendtner
Gilberto
Hleb
Rosicky

apparently Diarra has been dropped from the squad and it will be Gilberto who will start alongside Denilson in central midfield .

Fabianski
Hoyte
Djorou
Swiss Phil
Knuckle Duster

Theo
Denilson
Gilberto
Diaby

Eduardo
Bendtner

With RVP the secret weapon on the bench

This diarra thing is getting on my tits at the mo  Le boss says that he wont let him go yet doesnt use him sunday and now is left out of the squad for tonight so what is going on ? Its like the last 2 summers revisited as instead of re-inforcing a paper thin squad we are selling players left right and centre    On the transfer market front we really need to sort ourselves out - if we say a player is not for sale and is not going then it would be fcuking nice to stick by those statements. If diarra and jens goes do any of you actually believe we will delve into the transfer market (and signing some unknown 12year old from east timor dont count  ) ?

Agree with Augie, even if we do lose players, we probably won't replace them with players of equal or greater calibre (at least not at this point in time...maybe for the future).
