If Arsenal were planning to push ahead with Utd in February can't see why they won't do the same again

According the Guardian, there will be significantly less people on strike than February, so i'd imagine it will go ahead

TFL say there will be significantly less people striking this time than there was on February as its only the RMT Union proposing strikes so I can't see there being a problem

Love it how when you go into the comments part of the guardian you get the loony lefties turn up going on about right to strike.

Well thanks to the late Mr Crow we have probably the highest paid tube drivers/workers in the world and amongst the most expensive tickets too. And when its kicking off in a tube station late at night, what to LU staff do about it? Answer fuck all.

Also its on Sky so they won't want it moved and there isn't a free date to play it on as the next available midweek date is when the 72 hour strike begins on Monday 5th May

It's extraordinary amount of influence Sky has when they're merely 'broadcasters' of the Premier League. The creation of the stupid MNF has led to this stupid thing where football is being played on Mondays to the great inconvenience of football fans attending games just so they can milk views for that manc and scouser.

Playing on Mondays should be replaced by Fridays IMO.

Why not Saturdays at 3 pm.

Like I said previously, Sky wield way too much power after the money they've pumped into the game so they'd need to broadcast as many games as possible after BT has nicked quite a few off them this season. Therefore, Monday has become the de facto date for a game after their weekend schedule's been clogged up by other events.

I argue that Fridays, as a result, would be more convenient for the teams playing and, more importantly, the fans for the convenience of not having to go home asap so they're not late for work. 8)

That's why Saturdays are the best solution. Remember that not every Arsenal supporter lives within the local area and Friday nights are a traveling pain to anyone that has to travel 50 plus miles to get into London.

The broadcasters, unfortunately, have a right to broadcast when its most economically viable for them and it's logistically impossible for them to broadcast all the 'interesting' games during the weekend.

The great tradition of league football being played during the weekend has eroded but for the final week of the league.

There has to be 3 days of Premier League football now to appease the broadcasters who have payed big money to show football on their tellies.

It's sad but the notion that all 10 league fixtures to be played only during the weekend isn't feasible anymore. No matter how convenient it'd be for the fans, sadly.
