How many points will Arsenal need to win the league? (7/1)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

How many points will Arsenal need to win the league? (7/1)

usual thread starter… feeling confident? The run-in looks kinder than in might as a lot of tough aways and derby matches have been played. But Europe could certainly get in the way if the Gunners progress past Milan. The domestic cups can take care of themselves, as Wenger is quite happy to sacrifice those to preserve the energy of key players. But the danger is Le Boss might rest players for ‘easier’ Prem fixtures ahead of a European game. Not a good policy really. The less rotation the better as far as I am concerned. Where do you think points will be dropped for the rest of the season? Do you think either of Man Utd or Chelsea will fall away in the chase? Is it going to be tight at the end for a change this season?

IF FOOTBALL WAS SO PREDICTABLE, I DOUBT AS MANY OF US WOULD WATCH OR GET SO EMOTIONALLY INVOLVED WITH IT.

THE TRUTH IS NO ONE KNOWS WHAT'S AROUND THE CORNER AND HOW MANY POINTS WILL EVENTUALLY BE ENOUGH TO WIN THE TITLE. PAST SEASONS' TITLE WINNING POINTS TALLIES ARE NOT NECESSARILY AN ACCURATE INDICATION OF WHAT WILL BE NEEDED THIS TIME.

THIS SEASON, UNLIKE PAST ONES, HAS A DIFFERENT FEEL TO IT AND IT WOULDN'T SURPRISE ME IF THE TITLE WINNERS ENDED UP WITH 4 OR 5 DEFEATS AND LESS THAN 80 POINTS.

disagree with IHH

this year looks like you need a record amount to win, i just cant see man u dropping too many more points this season and we really need to be at our best at some of the so called lower teams, we still have to go to man u and chelsea and it might be taking points there that will do it for us 8)

Beating ManUre, Chelsea, Liverpool would go a long way towards getting the title, but we have to be careful we don't throw points away against mid table clubs.

At this point, I wouldn't say a figure could be picked, but like rebel said, if it stays this close...yeah it might take a record sum to win it.
