Wembley Pre Match Piss Up Venues
Ok, so today most peeps will be getting their tickets. What are the thoughts about a pre match drinking venue.
My early thoughts are to do the same thing as for the semi and head for the Globe baker street, there will be more Hull fans around but I am sure we can take the globe if we turn up early and in numbers again. The alternative is the green man which seemed mental before the semi, BUT seeing benches smashed up and flares being set off makes me wonder if the kids in the you tube vids can handle their beer! Don't get me wrong it seemed mental but the Globe ticks all the boxes in soo many ways. It wasn't difficult to get beers if you doubled up.

Cup Final Day Pubs
looks like it could be just as hard getting into one of the pubs around the ground as it will be to get into Wembley!
just checked out a few:
Arsenal Tavern - have apparently already sold hundreds and just a handful left
The Gunners, The Tollington and the 12 Pins are all first come, first served on the day.
now my issue with the first come, first served is this - what time are you likely having to get there before the match to get in?
then there are other problems such as friends coming along who are always late. to be honest I would rather that they were all ticket only, so I could pick one up before the day and then just wander in when I felt like it.
i am also a bit reluctant to turn up too early as I intend on celebrating a win into the evening this time around!

Going to head back after the match, are the pubs likely to still be all ticket then?

Doubt it, most gooners will have started to leave the area by 9pm imo which is probably when we get back depending on whether it goes to pens or not.mikehutch86 wrote:Going to head back after the match, are the pubs likely to still be all ticket then?

Have been to Club Level for screenings a couple of times. The last was WBA away on the last day of the 2011/12 season, and I vowed never to go back. Queues for warm, overpriced beers took about 20-25 minutes (literally), and the set-up made it pretty difficult to see screens unless you got there really early. Pretty sterile atmosphere too, tbh. Could be okay, and you've probably been before, but thought I'd add my two cents just in case you were looking for any feedback.

This will be slightly different to an away screening. They are putting jumbotrons on the pitch, I should imagine there will be a few. In fairness to the club they are giving gold/platinum members a £10 beer/food token but both the food and beer at the stadium is naff.VoiceOfReason wrote:Have been to Club Level for screenings a couple of times. Re: Wembley Pre Match Piss Up Venues
Bumpety bump, with the other thread being used for local drinking venues to the emirates lets have some suggestions on here for drinking venues on the way to wembley. I am thinking the globe baker street again, there is no doubt a load of us from the forum went down for the semi early doors to take the pub. The same would apply here but expect hull to have a go at taking the pub given they will be travelling into kings cross.
Most peeps must have their tickets by now, thoughts?

Brother lives just off Finchley Road so probably head to the Wetherspoons at the O2 centre before. Obviously pretty handy with only being a few short stops from Wembley. Sure there are places with better atmosphere but cheap(ish) beer and good service will do me fine.
Plan on doing some more raucous celebrating afterwards. That or throwing myself into the Thames.

So with the tickets hitting doormats any more thoughts, I would love to go to the globe again but its gonna be harder to take the pub with less fans and the egg chasers coming into kings x from hull.

What time are we all starting on the razz? Kick off is 17.00 so what's a good time to get to the boozers ahead of the great unwashed, rugger buggers?

Re: Wembley Pre Match Piss Up Venues
i have decided against going to the Emirates - just think the atmosphere might be a bit flat.
I will head to Highbury corner and try and get in one of the pubs there. I think that the pubs around the ground will probably be full by lunchtime. I am hoping to get in somewhere about 2-3pm.

Arsenal are saying today that they would take upto 25,000 to watch the final at the emirates, what f...g pisses me off
is that they want US/YOU to pay £ 10 to get in and watch it. Also the gates will open at 3pm.
Same Arsenal still wanting to take MORE MONEY out of us. Why don't they for once gives us something, i.e open the gates and let any Gooners that wants t to

Why would silent Stan pass up one last opportunity(this season) to take some money off the fans, when he and the board have been doing the same all season.gra0013 wrote:Arsenal are saying today that they would take upto 25,000 to watch the final at the emirates, what f...g pisses me off
