Team for remaining games...

Post by MK Gould »

The comments from both Arsenal and England camps suggest to me that Wilshere (and possibly also the Ox) will be rested so that they are ready for Brazil... I'm all for not rushing players back, but can't help thinking that Arsenal comes first in this and if there is a chance of either/both being available for the FA Cup final then we should grasp it with both hands!!!

Fingers crossed City will beat Everton and we'll have qualified for CL with two games to spare. In which case Wilshere should be playing on Sunday! And maybe Wilshere and the Ox v Norwich...

And for the final we should have a team/squad made up of the best available players. No room for emotion in this. Start with Chesney...Flappy on the bench! And if Wilshere/Ox are available then they should at least be in the squad!

Wilshere's not really an issue for me as he's a bench option at best right now and shouldn't be needed vs Hull.

With Oxlade-Chamberlain it's more a case that he probably won't be available for Norwich game but conveniently will be back ok in time for England.

SSN brought up some stats (I know I know   ) but our record with Wilshere playing this season has been far better in every aspect than when he isn't playing, I don't understand the criticism he gets on here, some of it extremely harsh :rubchin:

you cant knock Jacks effort its just that he doesn't seem to know when to pass the ball, does a lot of falling over and moaning, and doesn't score anywhere near enough goals.i agree the slatings he gets here are harsh,i think its more born from frustration than anything else,he needs a better footballing brain, however those stats sound promising, maybe he's another Wally where all the good work goes unnoticed.

I would play a full side on Sunday (unless anyone is in specific need of a rest) then rotate/rest versus Norwich. Nobody wants to risk a key player getting injured but realistically I don't think it would be ideal heading into a final having not played for 3 weeks.

I don't really believe Arsenal would prioritise England over a cup final but I'm pretty fucking sick of hearing Wenger bash on about the World Cup. Its no fucking concern of his and shouldn't factor into anything right now.

If Everton lose tommorow then rest players to ensure we are in best possible condition for the final.

As long as Ramsey and Ozil are sharp, I think we can win the final without Oxlade-Chamberlain and Wilshere.

I'm hoping that Norwich are effectively down come the last game of the season for 2 reasons:

1. If they're not someone is bound to get injured
2. There will be all this media pressure and speculation as to whether we will play a weakened side and how unfair it is on the other clubs impacted. I remember Benitez doing a similar thing a few years ago and rolling over against Fulham, and got absolutely canned for it

Unlikely to be the case though unless Sunderland win at Old Trafford and ruin the coronation of King Giggs, the new Guardiola :banghead:

I think the FA have revised the rules on punishments for fielding weakened sides. It was an understandable aim but ridiculous when it came to enforcement due to inconsistency and interpretation.

Now you can basically only get fucked if you play loads of kids who aren't registered in your 25-man squad I think. Could you imagine if they tried to charge Mourinho for fielding a weakened team that won at Anfield? That would have been fucking superb

If the FA were handing out fines for weakened teams the Scum from the Lane would be bankrupt by now !

Maybe that's why Lamela never plays :D

Maybe it is easy for me to say cos I ain't English, but if the ox and jack spend the last month of the domestic season in the treatment room then they shouldn't be allowed trek halfway around the world for the summer. A few years ago a rule was used that stopped players declaring themselves unfit for midweek internationals, but fit enough to play the weekends before and after for their clubs......shouldn't it be the same rule when the roles are reversed ?

To me this is another situation where we (wenker) allows the interest of the players to over-rule the interests of the club - just like we should not have allowed rvp to push his way into joining the manc scum, we now shouldn't let these players play in a World Cup after being unavailable for their club for so long. People bemoan the fact that we (wenker) overplays our injury prone players but yet nobody mentions the fact that England will do the very same here with two players who will not be ready/physically able for what will be asked of them.

Anyway I don't see why they would want to go to brazil......it's not as if engerland are going to win the World Cup anyway    :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

we need to play our strongest line up,to win the cup you have to maintain momentum, once you start fannying about with the team and suffer a couple of poor results it becomes very hard to step up a gear once the best players return, its got to be balls out all the way to the final :barscarf:

The trophy has already been lifted my friend......as the final whistle went at Goodison we secured our 'special trophy' once more, so let your balls hang free and start choking the chicken
