where was walcott yesterday?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He's recently had a new child and on top of his rehab program has probably decided to take a break from football to be fully refreshed for the start of next season.

Here's a video of Jenkinson talking to Walcott on the pitch at Wembley after winning the FA Cup. COYG :barscarf: :barscarf:

Yeah. Felt very sorry for Theo and Ox missing out. I wonder if the club can make a case to the FA to get them medals? I think we did the same with UEFA for Wrighty when he missed the CWC final in 1994?

His newborn son, Finley, was unwell so he stayed at home and had to miss the final.

Theo was wearing shades and a distinctly dodgy looking Arsenal hat. Perhaps it was such a good disguise that not many people recognised him!

Honestly I'm not being a heartless b*stard here, but surely his son would have to be seriously ill to justify skipping the fa cup final ?? Surely missing the parade is more acceptable than missing the cup final ? :?

:rubchin: Not so sure Augie, football is life but lifes life, bet he would have felt sick at the choice. He was at the Semi- Dont be too down on him, I glad he rates his nipper and family so much, however if it ever means him missing a Scum Derby to be with his family I will scream.

His two month old son was ill in hospital.
Theo got his priorities correct.
It is not as if Walcott was available for selection for the game.
Remember he was coined off against Spurs during the earlier rounds of the cup, but showed his defiance.

Augie, you have openly stated on here that you have missed parts of games this season for family reasons.

But he was able to attend the parade ?? Seriously I am trying not to be too hard on him but I cant help the feeling that he turned up for the glory yesterday, when he should have been there to support his team-mates on Saturday. If he had of missed the parade as well then I actually would be more understanding but to turn up for the "party" seems like he wanted his part in the fans adulation

Quartz I have indeed missed games due to family reasons and I have missed games for non family related reasons, but this is his job and he is being paid 100k per week and I would think that money would carry some level of commitment on days like that ? Do you believe he would have opted out of the game if he was fit and playing ? He certainly didn't looked stressed when face-timing jenks after the game or am I reading that wrong too ?
Of late we (the wife and I) have been in an ongoing battle with our 11 year old son - 5 weeks ago he had an operation that ruled him out of sport (and flying to cup finals  ) for 2 months and during that spell he has not wanted to go to any of the games that he should have been playing in. I could make it seem more of a drama by claiming that he finds it too hard to go to games that he cant play in, but the reality is that he is too lazy and comfortable on his ipad or watching tv. However the wife and I have refused to let him sit at home and have made him go to the games and have tried to drum it into his brain, how important it is that he supports his team-mates when he cant play and this is where I stand on this wally issue

Like I said in my first post, if his kid was seriously ill then I would totally support his choice, but to be able to spend the following day away from him doesn't suggest serious illness to me
