Re: 2013/14 Player of the Season (Poll)
got to be Rambo,im made up hes come of age and as from Saturday will always be a gunners legend.i was really disappointed when I joined this forum and saw the constant slating of him, especially as he was making his way back from a career threatening injury, some people have no patience at all
Re: 2013/14 Player of the Season (Poll)
I want to vote for ramsey I really do, but the reality is that he missed almost half of our league games this season and it would be very unfair to give it to him then.
It is because of that reason that I am voting for BFG as our player of the season - he doesn't get the goals and accolades that ramsey does, but his improvement in both defending and leadership, have been absolutely crucial this season

No stand out players for me, but the BFG has been a steady, solid presence at the heart of the defence, clearly passionate and a good leader. A win on points for him.

Mertesacker, second year running.
Re: 2013/14 Player of the Season (Poll)
The 5 main candidates are up there, but Cazorla shouldn't be considered over the course of the entire season. If that free kick hadn't gone in he wouldn't be in this poll presumably.

Re: 2013/14 Player of the Season (Poll)
what no Giroud Bendtner or Wilshere
Went for Kos, though BFG or Schez could have got it too.
Scez though was very messy in The Chavs match and though he shared The Golden Glove award thats what he should get for the year. He has improved a lot though and for a Goalie is still extremely young.
BFG is awesome but despite his placement being much better his lack of speed is still a cause for worry.
Kos though has been immense, for a start he has seen off The club captain and Belgian first team player for a regular place, he is like a terrier, never gives up, 100% commitment. Scored a few vital goals as well.
Rambo? hard because he got us to a great start to the season, but you cant get the season award for half the season even if you score one of the best cup Final Goals a week after one of the best PL goals.

Re: 2013/14 Player of the Season (Poll)
Difficult one this...
The BFG has been immense and a real leader out on the pitch, he also gets what it means to play for The Arsenal.
His rendition of "Arsenal til I die" at the parade yesterday nearly swung it in his favour, but I'm going for Ramsey by a short head.
He was out for a long time after being Shawcrossed and when he did start to play again Wenger saw fit to play him out of position, just adding to the problems he was already having. Some of the abuse and vitriol he had to endure at the bowl from our own fans was unbelievable and in my opinion unwarranted, it was nearly as bad as he gets from the Stoke inbreds. He seemed to become a lightning rod for a lot of the anger the fans had with the board and manager.
Many players never fully recover from a shattered leg, let alone his shattered confidence, but Rambo soldiered on got his head down and kept at it. This season he has showed us what he is capable of and I think he can still improve further, so even with the time he has spent out injured my vote goes to Aaron Ramsey.
PS: Feel free to pop a cheque in the post Aaron... there's a good chap.

Still just about give it to Ramsey despite missing so many games. He has just been absolutely immense, not only an important player but fantastic to watch. Mertesacker has been generally superb and Koscielny not far behind.
Szczesny has impressed me this year, although his form did dip a few months back. Sagna has been solid enough - as he nearly always has been - but the bloke can't cross a football and is scared to take on a defender. I've got so much time for Cazorla and he was immense Saturday in a turgid game, helped drag us through to an extent imo. But he has been underutilised this season and don't think he'd scored in about 20 games before the weekend.

Re: 2013/14 Player of the Season (Poll)
In Abou's absence I've opted for Sir Chesney. A few mistakes (find me a keeper who hasn't made them) but on balance the most consistent player in the squad. Didn't have a great game at the Bridge but wouldn't put him massively at fault for it or any of the other capitulations. I guess his harshest critic would say that his sending off fucked us over against Bayern but that was a blink of the eye judgment......not like mad Flapper's suicidal dash towards the end on Saturday !
Hart proved that even a hyped up regular number 1 playing in a decent side can have a major dip in form and Ches's was not as drastic as that

Re: 2013/14 Player of the Season (Poll)
I would like to have chosen Ramsey but he's only just come back, and what he did from August to December plus at the end Norwich & that winner is not enough for me to make up for the months out. So it's Koscielny who I think deserved the other central defender place in the best players this season votes and not Kompany. However we might not have been up so high before the drop and got the virtual trophy without Ramsey's games up until his injury so for me it's:
1 Kos
2 BFG
3 Ramsey
1 Kos
2 BFG
3 Ramsey
