Watched it just now, as had recorded it - very enjoyable to see / hear from the players perspective, they also do programmes about Adams, Sol, and Henry I think (not sure re DB10)
Only downside for me was Bob's speaking was all done in French - apart from singing "super, super Bob, super, super Bob, super, super Bob, super Robert Pires !!
Porquoi Robert ?

Also had it Sky+'d and really enjoyed it. His very obvious and genuine delight at sticking it to the scum was brilliant.
I've always felt Bobby never received the aclaim he was due. He was a fantastic footballer.
The only bit that was a bit erm... er... dodgy was him insisting he was touched for that penno and the clip then showing at least a foot of clear air between his foot and the oppo player.
But that always pissed me off - he got a reputation as a diver for that one dive. And yet Stevie Meeeee and the GrannyMolester were diving every single game but the media cúnts overlooked them.

One of my all time favourite Gooners...had the pleasure of meeting him in Luton airport in 2003 after a home game v Charlton.. The whole diving controversy said more about the media than it did about Bobby. He didn't dive , he manufactured a penalty. I remember a while later Arsenal were on ITV when Clive Tylsedly (I think) was talking about cheating in the game, the ball went to Pires and Tylesdly said "and speaking of cheats"
It was a shameful with hunt by a paranoid media , especially as a year later they completely overlooked the Granny Shagger's blatant dive to end the unbeaten run.
Was delighted to be in the Grove for the 2009 Villaeral Champions League game , 3-0 up with a few minutes left and all Gooners on their feet singing "Super Bob "

But, let's be honest, he dived that time.

Yes, as the ball flew over Schmeichel's head at Villa Park I was thinking "I hope this guy's the mustard on FIFA"spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:We never really replaced him. Absolute legend & a beast on PES2/3.
He was a fucking great player though, on that we can agree.

Was a shame the programme neglected to show the accolade Bobby received from the Gooner faithful that night, as that would have shown the complete respect that he was held in by the crowd.
It also missed out his semi-final winning goal v Scum and also his FA Cup winning goal too

Re: Bobby Pires Documentary on right now!
I remember that Portsmouth game being able to hear Pires' cry of anguish as he went down in the Clock End penalty area from the North Bank Upper
also remember Lehmann endearing himself to the fans when Sheringham went one-on-one and the flag went up, and then when Sheringham rounded him Lehmann absolutely halved him. Sheringham was livid.
Love Pires. The bloke was class. If he doesn't get the recognition he deserves it's probably because he was playing in such an era of legends.

I was very fortunate to win a competition last year to play at the San Siro alongside two Arsenal Legends. When I arrived we were told it was Tony Adams and Robert Pires
Privelaged to meet him and play football alongside him on the pitch. Genuinley nice bloke and my favourite Arsenal player of all time.
