The First 3 games

Post by Gunner Rob »

ok 3 big league games before the international break
how many points does everyone think we will get?

I am going for six - win v Palace, defeat v Everton and win v Leicester.

unfortunately the pursuit of the CL will mean that the Everton game will be sacrificed.
lets face it we will struggle up there anyway.

but with City, Spurs and Chelsea all to come in the following month then six points is the minimum we will need to get from the first 3 games.

I always think the first 3/4 games are psychologically massive. Important to get a strong start heading off the back of the end of the transfer window into a two-week break.

9 pts as right now I'm feeling confident (we haven't played yet so no bad vibes) :)

No reason why we can't win all three of those. In fact, if we have any title ambition whatsoever, we have to win all three of them.

Of course, Augie will have us losing all three by large scorelines

Clearly you're not feeling yourself mate

On the good side though, if you were "feeling yourself" we'd probably all have to start calling you REB.

Must be catching, I had the first 3 win vote  the forum could be a very positive cheerful place this season, except for Donaldo, the miserable bastard. :barscarf:

I've gone for 7 pts but honestly think it'll be 5.

Don't think Everton will get the free ride they got back in March, think Pulis will play 6-3-1 formation which will frustrate. They'll nick a goal on a set piece(Quelle supris) and we'll batter them for the rest of the game and snatch a point with a scrappy goal or Delaney will give away a clumsy penalty.

Nothing personal Gunner Rob but I fecking hate these sorts of threads!! :banghead: :banghead: Next it will be 'How many points will we get against our rivals' followed by 'How many points over Christmas & New Year' then 'How many points will be needed to win the title' then once we're out of that it will be 'How many points from our last 10 games' etc, etc, :banghead: :banghead:

5.

Palace 1, Toffees 1, Lester 3.

a draw against Everton is a good result - i think they'll finish above united and possible liverpool.

our title campaign could be over by October 6th.
