In the away end..

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

In the away end..

Post by Eboue-Why? »

I know we've had threads about this before but good friend of mine is a life long Chav, expensive STs in their main stand etc has a spare for the game...real prawn sandwich affair, food and booze and he doesn't want any money for it.
Naturally he wants me to sit on my hands. As we'll prob get a pasting over there then maybe I won't have to worry about standing up at the wrong time but we all know you do things instinctively when you're a fan so......do I?!!

Knuckle-dragging Cro-Magnon Headhunters will smell you a mile away and probably set about you with their club-like fists and crude improvised tools.

After they've wiped the shit from their faces and taken their cocks out of their cousins arses.

Avoid.

A small chance that you may witness Wenger's first ever victory against Mourinho.

A far greater chance we'll be comfortably beaten and then you're stuck with gloating chav fans, and you won't be able to do a thing about it.

Spending 90 minutes surrounded by those *word censored* sounds about as appealing as getting hit by a bus. If you go, you'll either end up getting enrolled in the BNP or knowing all about the cost of private education for your children and the going rates for nannies. Fuck the lot of them.

I know but imagine if we did win, sat there laughing inside with a full stomach, on a freebie and listening to that lot whingeing. I know it's a long shot but 3-5 a couple of years ago was out of nowhere too!!

Advice to OP ,

Dangerous
I only went once to Highbury,
And it was for the CL 1/4 finals and I was invited by a Chelsea friend of mine in their end..

It was an absolute nightmare fighting against the natural ..
And I fukcing lost it when Bridge score..

My mate understandably said it was time to go when everybody starting to look at me in a strange way..

OP ,
Choose carefully

There are only 3 clubs I wouldn't sit with the locals The scum, the missing links at the Brittania and most especially the racist,anti-semitic glory-hunting :censored: at that scummy stadium in west London.

Tell him to shove his ticket up his a**e :box:

I have been to non-Arsenal games as a neutral, that is OK.

Only once ever sat with the opposition, at Anfield for the 4-4 draw.

It was OK for me, I was sussed early on but I did not go berzerk when we scored, kept silent when they scored, did not shoot off my mouth.

But I would not want to sit with fans of Spurs, Chelsea, West Ham, no way.

Not something I would contemplate doing, especially not there.

Being in the food and booze section though suggests it will be the nanny and school fees crowd you will be with, so may not be as bad as some fear, in terms of threats etc.

Bet you wont be the only non chav supporter in that sort of area.

Free ticket free booze and food- I would go for it myself, expect a dicking for the Arsenal though

I always meet my Chav mate after the game in Jimmy's Bar under Matthew Harding stand where his ST is, upper tier, sounds like where you may be going as he says it's safe as I know 'cos after the 3v5 it was obvious I was a Gooner, but there was no grief just a bit of banta, returned the season after, we lost, but I took on the chin and took as much as I gave the previous season, as long as you don't act an angry thug you'll be fine....

Sitting in the away end at any time is not much fun - If I were to compile a list of teams not to ever do it at, those chavs would be at the top by some distance.

Watch it on the telly.
