this photo spread with comments by Smudger should bring back a few memories and tug the heartstrings a bit :

Good to see those pictures especially as thanks to Sky the only final day worth talking about is Shitty and Aguero in 11/12.

Playing relegation fodder at home is a bit different from playing the champions elect away from home and needing a near perfect result and only getting it in the final minute.

It's the stuff that films and books are made about :rubchin:  :barscarf:

Doesn't mention Groves or Quinn who were subs on the night.

I've never heard them called the incredibles before. I assume that tag got created after the Invincibles?

I'll never forget that night (except the journey home which I have no memory of at all   )

Hayes and Groves were on the bench. Quinn was there in his club blazer.

In our neck of the woods not may people know there was football before Sky invented Man Utd.

Groves came on late in the game.

Fucking SlySports. :x The cuntbag commentator that day in 2012 giving it the "This is the greatest end to a season ever, you've never seen anything like this, and you never will again!!" gave me the complete fucking shits. Cuntwounded fuckpig. I saw better in 1989 you arsehole.

As topgoon says, the difference between Anfield 89 and Citeh 2012 was the difference between having to beat relegation fodder at home with a squad that cost billions and having to go to the home fortress of the best side in Ingerland and one of the best in Europe, the reigning champions, as totally unfancied underdogs and beat them by 2 clear goals on their patch.

FUCK OFF SKY. :x

nah that was just me. i couldn't think of any other thread title. seemed appropriate though...

i'm not sure why Quinn and El Pel weren't in the WATN montage, Quinn is a Director of SAFC isn't he ?

interesting the comment about Rockys knee operation being botched. I never heard that. it would explain the loss of form and why GG offloaded him at only 25.

It isnt only Sky, on the MOTD 50th year special they were talking about the City v QPR game and Hansen said that he'd never seen anything like it.

That's the Hansen who was bloody playing in the Anfield 89 game.

Stupid scar headed make up wearing twat.

Probably ignored because the greatest end to a season was on ITV with the greatest commentator, Brian Moore.
