PL to begin live Friday night matches in 2016

more work for Wenger on a Friday night then if Be1N are bidding....

i thought they were French. it make sense now why wenger got his new paid gig - Emirates -> Be1N....

FWIW i like Friday night games - 26/05/1989 was one

Great idea as long as Wenger has fucked off by then.

Remember a Friday night game against Leeds - think 4-0 Invincibles season - that was great.

I'm not opposed to the idea - depends where you live really. Londoners may be more inclined to heading straight from work for a few beers and freeing the weekend up, whereas those who travel a significant distance and savour the 'whole day' experience are less likely to enjoy it.

It makes a beer or two and a sandwich in the front room more appealing . It's bad enough getting a couple of hours off for Tues/weds games , but Friday's as well is taking the juice.

Not surprised, I always wondered why the PL hadn't created another TV package of games played on Fridays. At some point they'll do Friday nights, Saturday 12.45, 17.30, Sunday 12.00, 14, 16, 18 and Monday nights and nearly every game will be televised in the UK. I would get annoyed but the appetite is clearly there from the broadcasters and the viewers it seems.

it was headed that way a few years back, and they backed off as they were worried that half empty stadiums would dim the atmosphere for the viewer

i see the same result to be honest, why bog off work early if you can leave at 5 and watch it in the pub ? especially given the high ticket prices ?

and any tasty games are not going to get OB's approval - can you imagine the OB approving Arsenal v Spurs or any other club with a big away support - chelsea, west ham, united, liverpool, etc for a Friday Night...you mix them with the usual Friday Night legions of pissed up wankers and Kings Cross & Euston will be Carnage. Manca nd Merseyside OB will be the same.

which leaves you with the delights of Burnley V Villa, Palace V Hull or such shite....zzzzzzz

Prefer the prospect of Friday night games over any kick off on a Sunday.

At least Spurs won't be on it, seeing as they like their slot 24 hours before
