Previous Burnley v Arsenal matches (Turf Moor)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Previous Burnley v Arsenal matches (Turf Moor)

Post by StuartL »

Not a ground I have visited, not had much of a chance as they haven't been in the top flight much since the mid 70's when Leighton James graced their team.

So anyone been up there ? with any recollections to share ?

I've been there two dozen times or so. Supporting Burnley with my best pal from Accrington.
Great day out. Early train from Euston, drinking with the Glasgow Rangers London crew. Pudding, chips n gravy at Turf Moor.
Meeting up with the suicide squad on the Longside which was then standing only.
Back when Stan Ternent and Jimmy Mullen were managers.
Train back to Preston and a Curry at restaurant next to station.
Milk train back to the smoke with recreational facilities enjoyed, completely wankered.
Happy days.

Only other PL game up there was an odd one. We were 1-0 up and Fabregas was magic, we were all over them and then he went off with his trademark hamstring injury and we were almost hanging on for a 1-1.
