Not sure what the point is considering he gets zero game time. We have been crying out for some of the tempo he injects into our game with weeks now and a 15 minute cameo against Sunderland is all he has to show for it. Can't see him getting anything more than an occasional league cup appearance so it all seems a bit of a waste for both parties.

Absolutely agree with this - I too like rosicky and it is a travesty that his time with us was blighted with injuries cos he would have been a star for us, but the reality is that he barely qualifies as a squad player nowadays I don't understand why le cock keeps him (and others) when he wont even play them when the others are either horrendously out of form or absolutely knackered - if he cant get a start or a lot more game time in these circumstances, then how much trust/faith does le cock have in him ?
I've never really understood the love in for Rosicky and the mass singing of his name whenever he warms up.
Obviously he was/is very talented, but I struggle to think of more than a handful of games where he's ever made a difference.
I know a lot of this is due to injury, but it doesn't alter the fact he has received a lot of money for very little return.
Personally i don't think he should have got his last contract.. certainly not a new one now.
I'm glad he's staying and it's probably on a much reduced salary. Fair play to him as he could probably make more money in a shit league with better weather and lower tax but he's chosen to stay presumably because he likes the club. He could be s good influence on the team and younger players as I think he works hard, doesn't moan and keeps himself out of trouble. It's a shame he missed so much time but then again, that's par for the course at our place and if Disabled Diaby kept getting new deals, then Rosicky should have one more deal.
I think (but am not certain) that they said on ssn that he has played 169 games for the club which, when you consider that he has been at the club almost 9 years, is a very very poor return

He has started 107 league games in 9 years which is fucking pathetic. What is the point in keeping a player which the manager wont play anyway.A stupid decision by our clown of a manager
Probably one of our most effective players. Of course he is mainly a second half player and struggles to do 90 minutes but he is such a valuable player to have when we're chasing a goal. And he offers a lot more dynamism than ozil. In an ideal world, we would start him in the cup final, but obviously that ain't happening
Don't know whether it is a good thing he is staying on - he is a very good player and as someone has already alluded to - he ALWAYS brings pace to our game - he increases the tempo of the team which is when we are at our best. The thing is cluelss in his numpty wisdom seldom plays him...
Again had it not been for injuries he could have been brilliant!..incredible touch and skills and a real footballing brain...him and Alexis always play well together, just not often enough....
Seems like a decent bloke as well - which helps - unlike the gobby pole.
Brilliant player with outstanding technique. Instep, outstep, laces - he can put the ball on a five pence from 20 yards with all of them. Pity about the injuries and even greater pity Arsene can't see that Rosicky can change our game and use him more often. Glad he's staying.
I can see why we would want to keep him as a squad player (even if I do find it baffling that he hasn't been used more) but Im surprised Rosicky wants to wind down his career as an unused substitute.
He seems to love playing, so surely it's better to move to a club where he will play more before it's too late?
Oh well. No problem with him staying as long as we sell other attacking players (e.g. Campbell, Podolski, Diaby, Theo) otherwise there will be no room for new players.
