Chelsea Trophy Parade - One Man and His Dog Spot

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Regardless, their parade today showed how much of a shower their real support is. With the spuds and worst ham about to build/move to bigger stadiums, just goes to show how artificially inflated their club is with the oligarchs money.

I heard there were only about 70,000 chavs on the parade route. And that there were quite a few empty seats at their last home game.

Shit club. No history.

One of our Gooner sites pointed out that on the night we won the CWCF against Parma there were only about 9,000 fans at Chelsea's home game.

I feel so much better now that I've got rid of my sour grapes.

this is spot on.
I am afraid that we cannot say that they have no history anymore. Shit club of course but a shit club WITH history now.
First London club to win the CL, and they have now won 5 league titles.

if you go back to the 1920s I am sure that our cup final opponents on Saturday Aston Villa would have called us a shit club with no history too. (In 1929 we had won nothing whereas they had already won 6 league titles)

You are both wrong IMHO. They are successful now in the present. They still have no history. They are a fake, a money generated fake, with no credibility and forever tainted success. Even chav fans (the genuine ones that were there before the Russian gangster) admit the Russian-bought success is tainted - of course that is now the minority of their Monday morning warrior fanbase.

After the Russian pimp is gone through boredom or assassination  , will those chav fans look back on this period like most proper big successful clubs' fans look back on success and think wow we did such and such or we won such and such against the odds etc or will they look back and just think (as all fans of other clubs look upon them and Citeh) well, we bought a few leagues and a CL.

In their heart of hearts, behind the bluster and bragging, they know they are not one of the true big clubs and they know they have no history and no credibility and this current success is forever tainted.

They are a club followed by shallow arseholes that think success is the be all and that a club and its fans should just fuck away their traditions and history and decency and honour to win something. You know, gobshites like Itchy-Baba.

The money argument is one I cant understand. Abromovich comes into Chelsea, and makes them successful, and does so knowing he will make a loss. The idea of success to him is gaged on trophies. Compare that to silent Stan, who is a leach sucking as much money as he can out of the club, and couldn't give a shit about on field success. As for the history argument, well I have yet to meet a fan of any club who looks back on success they have had in a negative way. I suppose there shouldn't be a statue of Herbert Chapman outside the Emirates as we were the Chelsea of that time, buying success.

sorry but like it or not that is just not correct.
So you are saying that the league title they won 10 years ago is in the present?
the present quickly becomes history, thats what so many people fail to recognise.

another couple of title wins (which could be won very quickly) and you are then looking at the 5th most successful team in English football. They are already the 3rd most successful team in FA Cup history.

by the way I HATE Chelsea but they are becoming (size of their support aside) a big club.

I knew this thread would get sidetracked, my original point was for a so called big club their support is a joke. They want to build a 60,000 stadium, trust me they would never fill it for non Cat A games.
