ARTETA

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He was made captain a year ago and you are bringing it up now ?? :? Arteta isnt just a pro with tidy hair - he was a model pro in so many aspects and seemed to bring that experienced older head that the other players respected and heeded. He is a guy that sacrificed the best parts of his game, to do a job for the team (cos le cock refused to go out and buy a proper DM  ) and he never once moaned about being played out of position. He is a guy that was so committed to joining us that he took a pay cut when he left everton to join us 8)

Arteta's legs have gone and of that we are all agreed, but he has been a model pro since he joined the club and deserves a lot better than the stick that he gets on here from some members

So he should have been with the money he is getting for doing FA, he hasn't sacrifice FA he was paid to do a job which in my opinion he didn't. As far as committed to joining us why wouldn't he come to us rather than stay with Everton, I didn't say he was stupid only he has passed his sell by date. Lets be real here he got well paid to do a job never mind where he played on the pitch.

100% agree, and for those first two seasons after we signed him he was our most consistent player too which some people seem to have forgotten very quickly. When TO1AW did his mad trolley dash that wasn't linked to the 8-2 hammering in any way (yeah right), this guy emerged from that transfer window as a really stabilising influence in the midfield, and unlike the other fuckwits he bought in that window like SQ Park and Frey Bentos Santos earned his money several times over

It would have helped of course if TO1AW had signed him 3 years previously when he was one of the best all round midfielders in the country but we couldn't have competed with financially doped Everton on the wages or have afforded the dizzying transfer price

Tets was a great stop gap when we lost Fabregas and very consistant but now he offers the team nothing at all, needs moving on now,he deserves playing time somewhere else,if Wenker puts him back in the team next season then we will all know he is a mentalist for sure

If we keep him it will be only on a low base and pay as you play .
If its at 80 k a week its simply not worth it for us ,u can get good players for that money.
Hes a good proand a good man but he's very injury prone and too slow for us !

Not saying that we should keep at all, but what I am saying is that, in my opinion at least, he deserves our respect more than ANY other player in our current squad - I'm not saying that he is or was ever our best player, but the manner in which he has served us on and off the pitch deserves nothing only respect

Am surprised that it hasnt been suggested that he will go to sociadad this summer - he is a basque player and would be close to moyes so in many ways it would be a perfect move for all concerned

And they both killed Coquelin's future at Charlton.

Keeping him and Rosicky is just filling two squad places with players who wont start any games.Pointless
