Emirates Cup Thread

Post by g88ner »

Surprised there's no thread on this; especially as we won 6-0

Good performances from Ramsey, Ozil and Chamberlain. Nice to see a youngster score a goal too.

Here's that bit of skill from Adelaide...

Looks an interesting talent.

I know it was only Lyon but I cant help (foolishly)thinking that we look for once a really well balanced side, add that to sweeping everton aside last week and things look promising, however next week against the Chavs no doubt we will be brought back down to earth with a bump.i thought Ozil looked sublime and is continuing is end of last season for, fingers crossed he grows even more this season,we still need a world class finisher though to nick those really tight games where we might only get 1 chance, the thought of Giroud shinning it into the crowd makes me cringe

It would be so nice if we took the confident way we played into the game against West Ham, but even though we tonked a Lyon side, albeit from a poor league, we will probably struggle against the shammers, who look awful in their Europa league qualifiers. I still remember my cousin saying how good Sanogo looked in last years tournament. Bless him, the naive sod, he should have known better.

We should get an idea of how ready we are when we play the Chavski scum in the Community shield. I imagine Moaninho will take it fairly seriously as he loves playing Clueless' teams.

Ah well, i'll try and enjoy the victory, and once again allow myself to be lulled in to a false sense of hope for the upcoming season.

Anyone reckon we are up for a last minute scramble in the transfer market, or are we ready to do something with what we have on yesterdays showing?

Just like the team that's going to win the Emirates Cup, we shall not be moved.

We played very well, some great displays from Ozil, Ox, Ramsey in particular Martinez also dealt with everything thrown at him well but...

It is nothing more than a pre-season friendly....same as the Community shield (should we win it) last year we won comfortably but ended up well adrift of both Man City and Chelsea when it came down to the thing that matters wining league points.

They have strengthened, we have marginally

Adelaide again 8)

I've already decided he'll be better than Pogba. I think a pay rise to £52k a week is warranted. :D

we won 6-0 no one can complain or moan about wenger and lack of signing a striker, no wonder no one started a thread. So lyon ligue 1 runners up, not that bad then.
Thought we looked very cohesive in Asia too

i really hope AWs plan for not buying a striker is to play Walcott up front. I like Wally but not as a lone striker
