Thursday, or out?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Thursday, or out?

Personally, would prefer to go out and not do the Europa, won't win it anyway, so why bother

I would like to see us play on a Thursday just to see how deep our fan base is these days.
I certainly wouldnt go but would the club make a last 64 europa clash one of the cup credits paid for by season ticket holders?

I would prefer us to go out so we can concentrate fully on finishing 4th and qualifying once more for the bore fest league for the 97th consecutive season and therefore lining everyone's pockets in the process. To get Bayern and Olympiakos in next years group would be the fantasy draw :barscarf:

Wouldn't want to be in it all year, the group stages are even more tedious than the CL, but I actually quite fancy a straight knockout European run for half a season. We have decent history in the lesser European competitions (not that that will mean anything to the manager), it's something a bit different to yet another last 16 CL exit (we'll go out at that stage in this instead :barscarf: )and it's a cup we can win IF we take it seriously (although the last two games against average European opposition would suggest otherwise). And it's a chance to qualify for the Be All And End All and actually win something for it. For a one off I wouldn't mind it, although I fear it may be a sign of things to come when the Wenker loses his 4th place trophy.

Up until this season I would have emphatically voted "out" in this poll, but now I have changed my mind for this same reason - nothing would make me happier (except le cock resigning of course) than to see a half empty stadium as we entertain some regional polish side or some unheard of latvian minnow, and then watch as the club squirm as they try to put some positive spin on it
I also think that being in it would put le cock in an akward situation too - does he play a largely 2nd string side despite the fact that winning it would assure the club a champs league place next season ? If he played a weakened side (hard to know which players that would entail these days  ) then it would be nigh on impossible to sell the tickets to fans and that in turn will assure half empty stadiums 8) If on the other hand he decides to go all out to win it, can you imagine the pressure and spotlight that will fall on him if he fails ? A man that has never won a european trophy failing yet again ? This for a club that was built with a team to compete with europe's elite ??

Anyway missing out on this competition will allow le cock to concentrate on his 4th place target and this will only maintain the deja vu life of Gooners everywhere so FCUK THAT

I hope we end up in the Europa league.Because that is where we belong. We are not a CL team our record over the years proves that. And i hope England goes down to 3 places in the CL,then we are fucked

Quite right.

Thursday is where we belong after our fucking around for years.

I doubt that facebook would survive the number of spares going where people can't make it due to, ahem, "work reasons".

Another European competition where Arsene gets exposed again, no thanks.

We have no chance of winning it and even though it's our level i'd rather not. Europa shouldn't be our level considering our revenue but with Stan and Arsene...

We should just give our European entry away as some sort of present to another team because under Wenger we could play until the end of time and still never win a trophy.

Surely he is the worst pound-for-pound manager in European football history? The best part of two decades in charge of us and one fucking final is dreadful return.
