Wenger and the dull style of play.

When it's slow and boring, people will be bored and boring.

I went to the Nou Camp for a game a few weeks ago. The atmosphere was shit there too. I blame the football tourist (of which I guess I was one) with 15 mins to go 2 Asian ladies with brand new Messi shirts on stood up at the front of the stand and proceeded to take selfies with the game going on behind them, blocking people's views  in the end I shouted for them to move even though they weren't blocking my view, I was livid. They then fucked off, what a couple of *word censored*

The Barcelona shop is 3 levels and filled to the brim with shite. 130€ for a shirt with Messi on back and champions league badges, the only people who could afford this are tourists!!!!! The clubs want the tourists and don't care about real fans anymore

21st century football is bollocks and it's heartbreaking

Let's be honest people going to the Emirates isn't enjoyable now.

Not allowed to stand for more than 10 seconds without a steward moaning at you having every other person taking selfies and recording the whole match on there phones and the same crap chants every game (surprising how you never hear stand up if you hate Tottenham away isn't it?)

The whole ground is built for tourist to sell shirts and for club level to piss off at half time and return 10-15 minutes into the second half. The whole place does my head in and is built to ruin the atmosphere.

Also wait for season ticket prices to go up this season they've been the same price for too long now.

A disillusioned fan....

Whenever I go to the Emirates, I work hard to get everyone singing and it just peters out after a few lines. Others have said its been rocking in block 19, but I've never heard them from where I was sitting. Pompey get right behind their team, the whole ground rocks when they start. And I hate to say it, when Spuds :cussing: :cussing: are winning they get their song going around the ground for a bit.

Half the fun of going to a match is to sing and to scream at the ref or to cheer. If you don't come home with your voice hoarse you should be ashamed of yourself. :barscarf: :barscarf:

The Cardiff home game on New Years Day 2014 sticks in my mind. I sat quite far back in the upper tier near my brother - hadn't sat there before.

No exaggeration, by kick-off around a third of the seats around us were empty. People were still sauntering in with 15 minutes gone. Two Asian women in front taking selfies all game (seems to be a theme!). Two absolute pricks behind me talking non-stop about their bets, comparing their slips and checking their apps. Some prick not picking his head up from his phone.

This wasn't just shit atmosphere - the only other blokes who were watching the game thought it was absolutely hilarious to spend the entire second half joking about how Bentdner was going to come on and skin five players and then score the winner. Like it was fucking funny that we were top of the league and about to piss away 2 points at home to one of the worst sides in the league.

Of course he did score the winner  but I was the only fucker left to celebrate.

I've been going regularly since I was 6 and the atmosphere has always been shit but that game was still a massive eye-opener for me.

Too right mate, funny really my misses usually knows how the match went by my voice, though Im afraid ive given up going to the bowl much, and much prefer the terraces of the nearby National league (Conference) terrace- yes yer actual stand legit sing chat to people next to you and have a laugh - it still exists 8)

Incidentally TBF Im not sure that Naples would be too pleased if Pompei starts rocking again

The answer is in the question.

By numerical comparison alone, it has to be the season ticket holders/regulars. I would estimate that there are no more than 2000-3000 pure "tourists" (i.e. coming from outside Britain/Ireland) each match. That's barely 5% of the ground.

How do we fix it? Friendlier stewarding and the introduction of rail seating are two ways. The squad could also help by winning more than two home matches since March.
