The most ridiculous Wenger capitulation/stupidity.

Post by This Is The Daybreak »

Hi there all. I am a little bored with talking about lack of leadership, lack of bottle, lack of plan B, lack of heart, lack of Cech/Monreal (??), lack of a striker, lack of organization, lack of being unable to break teams down and sheer stupidity in our football team at the moment. So what would you say has been the most ridiculous Wenger capitulation/stupidity. Maybe even pick a top 5/top 10 (or add your very own)!

a)Last night
b)Drawing 4-4 with Newcastle after being 4-0 up at half time
c)Getting the easiest draw in the Champions League knock out only to concede 3 at home to Monaco.
d)Conceding a 4th goal to Liverpool at Anfield after Arshavin had made in 4-3 in injury time
e)Drawing 1-1 with Liverpool after taking the lead in the 95th minute
f)Losing 3-2 to Wigan after being 2-0 up with 10 minutes to go
g)Drawing 3-3 to Ancherlect after being 3-0 up with 20 to go
h)Having Yaya Sanogo make his debut in the Champions League knockout against the Champions of Europe
i)Drawing 4-4 to Spurs
j)Losing to Spurs after being 2-0 up at half time
k)Selling your best striker and captain to Manchester United to help them win the title
l)Signing Marouane Chamack
m)Passing on Gareth Bale because we had Gael Clichy
n)Have Manuel Almunia play over 100 games for Arsenal
o)Losing 8-2 to Manchester United
p)Getting knocked out to Bradford when you play your strongest team
q)Fielding a weakened team in the Champions League despite bragging how often we qualify for it.
r)Losing at home to Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup
s)Dropping an inform Arshavin in the FA Cup Semi Final
t)Having someone of the mindset and attitude of Nicklas Bendtner play for Arsenal Football Club and give him 50,000 pounds a week.
u)Starting last season with 2 recognised centre backs at the start of the season and resorting to your left back playing there.
v)Giving Squillaci a 50,000 pound a week contract.
w)Selling Gilberto, replacing him with Denilson
x)Losing a Cup Final to Birmingham Bloody City
y)Signing one of the best number 10s in Europe at the time (Arshavin) and play him on the wing
z)Having potentially one of the best box to box midfielders in the world (Aaron Ramsey) and playing him on the wing.

And I've now run out of letters and I reckon I could've gone on. I honestly didn't even have to think too hard about it! All of this has also happened in the last 5 years or so. Is like choosing the worst Simpsons episodes when it turns out they're all in the modern day, though I guess the Michael Owen final, 6-1 to Man Utd, signing Igor Stepanovs, sticking with David Seaman for an extra season when I feel a new keeper could have won us the league in 2002/03, Starting 1998/99 with only Bergkamp, Anelka and Chris Wreh as our strikers (we really struggled for goals early that season and a striker could have got us a title then as well) constant qualification but constant failure in the Champions League...I could go on and on.

As with everyone here it seems, I'm done with Wenger and have been for a while. Always said if there was a better replacement out there I'd have him and Ancelotti and Kopp are unemployed. I think that is the only way my excitement for this predicatable modern day Wengers Arsenal will rise again.

It is getting beyond ridiculous. He's stubborn, he's egotistical and I think his ego has made him think hes bigger than the club which has been getting worse ever since the stadium move. And of course has no one to answer to (know this has been covered everywhere) and in last nights press conference says he doesn't have to explain himself. Well there were 60,000 in the stadium last night and many more at home who pay a large part of your wages. Why don't you just play in an empty stadium with no cameras as we are quite clearly an inconvenience.

Wow, you ran out of letters.

When you look at the results at the top, it is clear that our defensive play has been crap for quite a while. He brought Sol in that bolstered up the aging back four, since then, we've been lightweight at the back.

You missed one and it is undoubtedly the worst one, considering the stakes.

Taking off Bobby in Paris instead of Hleb.

You missed one.Got back to 2:2 and into semi-finals of ECL. Then two stupid goals means we lost 2:4.

"Liverpool set up another Champions League semi-final with Chelsea after a stunning late win over Arsenal.
Abou Diaby put Arsenal into an early lead but Sami Hyypia lost Phillipe Senderos to head an equaliser.
Fernando Torres looked to have settled it when he scored in the top corner, until a superb Theo Walcott run allowed Emmanuel Adebayor to tap in.
But Kolo Toure fouled Ryan Babel and Gerrard held his nerve from the spot, before Babel broke to add a fourth."

Oh and..Conceding 3 successive goals from throw-in versus Stoke City.

Rolling out Diaby year after year and stating he is "like a new signing".Only for him to get injured during warm up.

Constantly extending Diaby's contract with pay rises long long after he had met all of the medical requirements to be technically classified as a member of the living dead. That fucking has to be in there.

What about appointing below average almunia as team captain on several occasions ? :banghead:

Or how about the signing of a clearly past it manure reject Silvestre ?

Or maybe being every big club's bitch when they want one of our top players ?  :censored:

All of the options listed above are indeed ridiculous and sad moments in the history of our great club, but they were only the icing on the cake for me cos I had decided a long, long time ago that he was a spent force and needed replacing

This is a very bad post because as others have pointed out it only has the possibility of 26 letters.

The Thai language has 76 which I think may have more accurately reflected the list of wenger fuckups !
