interlull Euro qualifiers

Post by Nos89 »

Is there anyone who is eagerly anticipating this next week of international football?
Id have thought anyone Welsh, Scottish or Irish is relishing the chance of qualifying for an international tournament. Must be some excitement out there?

Being of Cypriot origin I'm staggered that Cyprus can still get to a play off place...

The absolute farce of allowing half of Europe qualify for a major tournament has just shifted the goalposts and now any half-decent team are going to cruise through. Even though the Dutch have been absolutely shocking and lost game after game, they are still in with a great chance to finish 3rd when they will have to beat some fourth-tier country to qualify.

Nah, just not bothered with Interlull at all. I watch the major tournaments because they are off season and it's some football to watch until the proper football restarts but otherwise the interlull just bores me tbh.

Two things also piss me off about the Interlull. The first is the pathetic faux-national pride and xenophobia it induces in some morons.

The second is the football bandwagon jumpers. The type of cúnts that don't watch football, don't support a team, don't go to games and then their country qualifies for a tourney and they are in work wearing the jersey and talking the talk and being total bell-ends. The towel flicking rugby shite is far worse for this, but the footy gets it's share of fair weather arseholes too.

Having opened the doors to just about every mediocre country in Europe to qualify this time, I'll be pissing my pants if Oireland and Scotland don't make it. I suppose if the Oirish find a handball along the way they could launch another highly dignified campaign to let a 25th side enter the tournament next Summer

Looking forward to England winning 10 out of 10

I love the way engerland wheel out their in form striker wally walcott to charm the english media yesterday and to tell everyone how good he is and how few players would have come back from the injury he had - this is the guy that has scored the same number of league goals this season (2) as danny ings, and ings has had much less playing time too
I have to give the guy credit, whoever trained wally to be a top class pr man has done an excellent job - to listen to him bigging himself up you would think that he is one of the worlds top players

I have no stats to back this up with but I imagine Arsenal have suffered more interlull injuries than any other premier league club..Not interested in them, but saw Germany to win 2-0 with Muller to score first is 18/1 in some bookies.. If I said in work that I was having a few quid on that I would be considered a traitor.. Think the rugby is the main bandwagon in Oireland now

Obviously he's never going to reach the heights of Jonathan Walters or Kevin Doyle :D

Maybe once upon a time mate, but not since the 2006 World Cup and the supposed 'golden generation' - in fact the English media now are quite the opposite and slate the players to high heaven and often the manager too. I haven't heard or seen any hype for next year's tournament

On the contrary, you'd have thought Wales had already won the thing the amount of times I hear how wonderful they've been and they've even been touted as 'dark horses' in some quarters !

2 goals conceded in 8 equals best defence in Europe plus the world's most expensive player - name's on the trophy.

Let somebody else's national media have a turn at hyping up their team for once mate :barscarf:

Ireland 1-0 up lol.

Neuer's a fucking mentalist. Amazing keeper but out of his box, in more than one way.
