Back up to the backs
Back up to the backs
Maybe not an urgent problem, is it time to think about who should be backing up Bellerin and Nacho? These two are by far the best, the next in line look like liabilities. Sell DeBush and Gibbs, probably would not get £5 for them, bring back Jenks, bring up a young one does not look a solution either. Other than hope the two starters stay healthy, what to do?
Re: Back up to the backs
I can see Jenkinson returning in the summer with Debuchy sold. I think we'll persevere with Gibbs though.
I think most would agree though, Bellerin and Monreal are currently streets ahead. Those 2 and Coquelin are evidence of what can happen when players get a chance in the first team. Fair play to all of them.

Re: Back up to the backs
Definitely looks to be more of a gap between our increasingly identifiable best XI and the rest, but then people like Debuchy (who has been really shit) and Gibbs don't get much playing time so you can't really expect the same level from them.
Re: Back up to the backs
Not being racist in the slightest, but gibbs is being kept for one reason and one reason only.......his nationality. With the uefa and premier league rules now, every club has to have so many home-grown players, and so many players from the country in which the club is based, and gibbs meets the requirements for that. Le cock then has the freedom to purchase foreign players for what he will consider to be more important ie the little dainty attacking midfielders

Not to worry, Augie. Nothing indicating you're a racist there, except maybe for the disclaimer bit.

Not just at those positions, but there's a gulf in quality at just about every starting spot. Cech, Monreal, Bellerin, Coq, Kos+BFG/Gabriel, Alexis, Giroud(
) All these players have a gulf between them and their replacements.
Honestly the only ones that are not in the starting 11 that I think are good enough are Ox, Walcott, Wilshire and Rosicky. Unfortunately those are also the same players that are ALWAYS injured, so really we have NO DEPTH which is why we will never win the league until that is fixed.
Our starting 11 to 13 players are good enough, the rest are not.

Be surprised if we see Rosicky again.Yankee_Gooner_Dandee wrote:Not just at those positions, but there's a gulf in quality at just about every starting spot. Cech, Monreal, Bellerin, Coq, Kos+BFG/Gabriel, Alexis, Giroud() All these players have a gulf between them and their replacements.

Another player who never reached his potential because of injury. He always looks class on the ball.
