Messi and The Arsenal

Post by Nos89 »

On BBC sports webpage reports Messi is interested in playing in premier league, prefers Arsenal but wants £600k a week. Given our lacklustre attempts in transfer market if he didn't renew his contract and we didn't have to pay a transfer fee, should we table him an offer?
Messi, Ozil and Sanchz as a front 3. Id definitely get my season ticket back to see those 3 next season.

At 600K per week I think only Man City and Chelsea can afford him.
With Costa in intermittent form, Remy not favoured and Falcao on the fringes I could see him going to Chelsea if he really wants to play here.

Cannot see Stan paying 600K per week.
£30M per year?
We would not make that back through shirt sales, and the few extra tickets we would sell would not make that up either.
How long would Messi last with us until he gets injured?

Makes a change from the 'Ronaldo back to United?' rumours that the press endlessly peddle just because Ronaldo doesn't insist that he will only be carried out of the Bernabeu in a coffin

Utter nonsense mind

So a 4 time CL winner, and a treble winner last season is going to leave one of the best clubs in the world to join a club whose only ambition is to be in the CL. If Messi ever contemplated a move like this then he should be sectioned immediately.

Or he could be the player that moves us from a big club to one of the elite clubs in world football. We need a player that makes the difference. We are ready...are the directors bold enough to take the risk and make that move for one of only 2 players in the world that can make that difference.
