Its the caring that kills you

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Its the caring that kills you

Post by dano »

Love the Arsenal, will always support the team.

But why should I care about them, when it is obvious Stan only cares about the profit he can make off them, his heart is in the US and treats us like cash cows to support his other teams. AW cares about his £8mega/year, and making Stan his dosh. Players want to get paid and may or may not show up and run around a bit.

Going continually after 4th place is not the Arsenal way, getting to the point of not caring anymore until the owner can be arsed to fire Arsene, or until he sells out. Until then, nothing will change.

Nah it's the sheer predictability of it all that kills me. Last August the majority on here described how this season was going to pan out and everything is pretty much going to plan as we roll towards December.

getting dicked in the CL - check
squad ravaged by injury - check
the lack of cover for Coq will haunt us - check

and so on and so on.

The beauty of sport is that you can never be fully sure what's going to happen....except at Groundhog FC.

I feel sorry for the guys that still get emotional after games.
I feel sorry for the guys who are paying £40-85 to support their team.

I, apart from the odd outburst, am pretty indifferent concerning the performances of the club.

The script old and tired and is just doesn't get a rise out of me anymore. I do think there is a good chance that in 2017 it will end and we can finally, finally move on. No guarantees, because the club is set up for one man only to call the shots.

no poit giving a shit until wenger fucks off. simply no poimt nothing will change it jut a bill murray tribute however muh some people thin each season will finally be different. rinse repeat.

sure stan is a problem too, but getting rid of wenger and replacing him with someone who does tactics and motivation would instantly improve the side no end even with the existing players.

once a proper manager is in place, then stan can take the ire.

the thing that is worrying me is how I am increasingly find myself not bothered about results.

I lost it with Wenger 3 years ago when he didnt sign a replacement for RVP (still waiting for that btw)
but I have still been able to enjoy some aspects of the club - for example the FA Cup runs (we have only won the Cup these past 2 seasons because the proper top clubs consider it an irrelevance btw)

I have also enjoyed the CL nights despite knowing that we are unlikely to progress very far.
I was starting to get a bit fed up after the Anderlecht 3-3 draw fuck up last season but the Olympiakos game was it for me.
I just can't take it seriously anymore. Does anyone really give a shit about tonight? Oh well at least I have saved £50 by not going.

Note to Stan - I have money to spend at the Arsenal, am willing to spend that money but not with your current business model.

Pretty much sums it up for me too

The excuse culture is what really fcuks me off though - le cock makes excuses for the shit performances (tiredness, bad refereeing, travelling etc), wenker continually uses injuries as an excuse and he uses every excuse under the season for not buying quality players, and of course a lot of fans continually make excuses for wenker (injuries being the constant excuse  ).
The funny thing though, is that even though much of the akb point the finger at kroenke, they never publicly question him or protest against him - I think that deep down they know that there is no other owner out there that would continually pander to their god, so keeping him happy is a way to continue the reign of le cock  These people are just judas b*stards imo and if they are classed as Gooners then I wouldn't want to be classed as one :censored: :cussing: :cussing:

They support Arsene Wenger and not Arsenal Football Club, simple as that.

It's because we care that it hurts so much when history predictably repeats itself. I have given up on hope but still cling on to the caring.

That pretty much sums it up for me too, no matter how fed up i get with Le Cock, the Board and the poor performances of the team i just can't stop caring about the results, even in the European Borefest League i still hate it when we lose

Thing is what has Kroenke actually done wrong apart from overpaying for his shares ???????
Taking $3 million out of the till a year , thats peanuts !
No he leaves those in charge to administer the club and they do a good job .
He leaves Wenger to manage the club on the field and sees that we do OK for minimal outlay.

What do you want him to do apart from sack wenger ,he'd be mad to !

He isnt the problem over there !

I am just numb to it now. After seven groundhog seasons and counting, you get used to it.

I despair at what happened to our club.

100% correct. Kronke is not the problem, Wenger is.
If hes guilty of anything its not sacking Wenger but as herd said why would he? I've said it before but I really dont understand the shit Kronke gets. It really only serves to distract from the real problem.
