Martinez Sacked
Not a surprise but another manager ear marked to succeed Wenger has been sacked.
I think it was a case that the Bluenoses saw Klopp at Liverpool and were getting jealous. Won't be surprised if Everton are fighting relegation next season as I anticipate an exodus of their best players.
He is a nice guy and certainly got an average team over performing in first season, just had quality individuals that were looking at Everton as a stepping stine.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him appointed at a Premier League club next season.

Shite manager....came out with soundbites to make himself seem better than he was.
Wouldn't mind Lukaku up front for us next season too though!

Re: Martinez Sacked
His insistence that they were playing well all the time despite poor results and hapless performances wore very thin.
Likewise his attempts to move the goalposts were seen right through by the fans - he highlighted their games against Liverpool and United in FA Cup as defining, and the fans held him to that when he came up well short.
Made a lot of average signings (and a fair few poor ones) and didn't address areas that clearly needed strengthening.
On top of that his desperation to play tapping possession football actually saw them playing more insipid and dull football than they ever did under Moyes.
Bar the consistency of scraping the bare minimum expectations, it is Wenger all over. Except without this ludicrous personality cult.

Re: Martinez Sacked
Where's ItchyBaba claiming Everton have more ambition than us?

Re: Martinez Sacked
I have long been a martinez fan BUT his inability to sort out his defence, plus his prioritising style of football over results, have me thinking that he is going down the same wrong road as the french w*nker we have
I will say though, that I think that a lot of his players have stopped playing for him - their is no way you could blame the manager for all of the performances that they have been turning in of late, and especially when you let a shit mackems side score 3 goals against you

Pampered fans. Don't they know that there are 60 other teams in England that would love to be in their place? How do you think that the fans of Newcastle feel?
Re: Martinez Sacked
Another fraud, like Wenger.
I'm glad he's gone. I just hope the press are less likely to mindlessly support idiot bullshitter managers who only play one way.
Football philosophy? What pretentious shite.

Wengerlite.......
Glad to see him go and good on the Everton fans for refusing to accept his brand of tippy tappy shit. Crap defending. No plan b. And his insistance on talking complete and utter bollox.
He inherited a strong defensive unit from Moyes and his early "success" was built on that but his failure to adequately address glaring defensive defiencies and Evertons lack of progress was obvious.
Seen this movie before?

Lukaku was on fire for the first half of the season, but then, just like Giroud completely went to shit after Christmas. The last thing we need is another prima-donna striker who takes a mid season holiday.Natural Born Gooner wrote:Shite manager....came out with soundbites to make himself seem better than he was.

Also him coming out and announcing that he wants to play for a champions league club next season while Everton were just starting to nose dive paints him as a bit of an über c.unt. Fuck him.
Re: Martinez Sacked
I knew the bloke was a fraud when he took mid-table Wigan down after fighting relegation a few years on the spin. The Wigan fans didn't call him Bottom Four Bob for nothing; getting smashed by eight goals to Chelsea and Tottenham. The press and his chairman were happy to feed his legend and he even still gets credit for 'laying the groundwork' for Brentan Rodgers at Swansea (another bullshitter who was found out). Then he walks into a good job at Everton and ignores the art of defence. A just-relegated British manager would not have got that job. He scores tons of points with the media for being foreign, yet Anglicized. If he gets another decent job in England it'd be a disgrace.
If only we could eject our own myopic fraud
