As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
please retort by bringing up their own mysterious elected to the football league in 1908 after finishing seventh, for no good reason despite finishing ten points behind leaders qpr
it's worth bearing in my mind that we finished 5th in 1915 after being elected to the first division, when the league was expanded to 22 teams. just felt like mentioned it as i get sick of their bleating about corruption when all of football was bent back then.
if anyone wants anymore history on the subject i suggest you read john surling's recent book "red letter days" which sheds some useful light on such subjects
Surprisingly that subject doesnt come up that often, the very few Spurs fans I talk to or have any time for NEVER mention such stuff ,they are far more grown up .
Casual aquaintances however I ruin on a reghular basis ,il bear this one in mind but normally they get caned so badly they give up and run away after initial exchanges !
Even when I've been ripping the piss out of die-hard Scummers, they've never mentioned it, which, given how they're happy to celebrate their victory in the Japan Cup etc, is an amazing discovery.
We've discovered a depth to which even the Scum won't stoop.!!

It shows how bitter they are that they know the circumstances of our "promotion", the names of the people involved and the politics of the deal, even 100 years later. I have no idea of their origins or early history other than they won the FA cup when they were in the Southern league and it's apparently lucky for them when the year ends in one (turns out it had to start with one too!).

You must know the extremely small number of vermin with a functioning brain in their head, mate! I know a good few vermin (both Oirish and Ingerlish) fans and they ALWAYS bring it up (as well as the usual shit about Woolwich).
There was a documentary a few years back about the NLD rivalry and the head of the vermin official fans association ranted on like a smacked bitch about 1919 and Woolwich. It was hilarious. If anyone can find a clip of it please post it here. Seriously it's THAT funny.

I have it on VHS somewhere so, as I'm a wrinkly technophobe, you'll have to come round mine to watch it!
Also, there is only one North London team with it's ground in White Hart Lane and it's Harringey Borough. The shithole isn't even particularly near the aforementioned lane.
